Transcriptome‐Based Classification of Resected Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Enhances Prognostic Modelling Accuracy of Overall Survival Following Adjuvant Treatment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 5, Page 1322-1336, 1 September 2026.
Outcomes after resection of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma remain highly variable, and existing prognostic models lack sufficient accuracy. Here, the authors aimed to improve survival prediction by integrating transcriptome‐based subtyping into a validated clinical model and applying it to a multicenter real‐world cohort of fresh‐frozen resection ...

Fibroblast Activation Protein Expression Differs Between Inflamed and Fibrostenotic Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesJCC Plus, Volume 1, Issue 5, September 2026.
This study demonstrates that fibroblast activation protein expression is elevated in inflamed and fibrostenotic inflammatory bowel disease, with highest levels in fibrostenotic Crohn's disease. Cellular fibroblast activation protein predominates in inflamed tissues and localises to α‐SMA−PDPN−CD90+ stromal cells. ABSTRACT Background Intestinal fibrosis

A Porcine Model of Intervertebral Disc Injury Recapitulates Human Discogenic Pain Via Notochordal Cell Loss and Pain‐Inducing Nucleus Pulposus Cell Emergence

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
A porcine model of disc injury recapitulates key clinical, histological, and molecular features of human discogenic low back pain. Multi‐omics analyses identify a shift from notochordal cells to pain‐associated nucleus pulposus cells as a potential driver of disease progression. ABSTRACT Background Lower back pain (LBP) is one of the most common causes
