NEW MICRO AND NANO-STRUCTURED EMULSIONS BASED ON COLLAGEN AND KERATIN HYDROLYSATES [PDF]
The aim of the paper is to create new micro and nano-structured emulsions based on multifunctional surfactants (bolaform and gemini) with potential applications in designing foliar fertilizers based on collagen and keratin additives. Collagen and keratin

Analysis of SWI Complex Subunits in 69 Cases of TTF‐1 Negative Non‐Small Cell Lung Carcinoma
ABSTRACT Non‐small cell lung carcinomas, not otherwise specified (NSCLC‐NOS) with a specific signature including high‐grade hepatoid/clear cell morphology, negative lung panel mutational analysis, negative TTF‐1/Napsin A staining can be reported as a morphologic variant of an aggressive carcinoma with loss of one of the subunits of the SWI/SNF ...

Chicken feather dissolution to obtain keratin
The dissolution of chicken feathers was investigated to reduce solid waste and obtain keratin. For the first part, the effects of sodium sulfite (0.05–0.3 M), urea (0–4 M), temperature (50–85 °C), and incubation time (2–4 h) on feather dissolution were ...

Abstract Background Mutations in cohesins cause cohesinopathies such as Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS) and Roberts Syndrome (RBS). Prior findings demonstrate that Esco2 (a cohesin activator) and Smc3 (a core cohesin subunit) regulate the CRL4 E3 ubiquitin ligase. SMC3 mutations, however, account for a small percentage of CdLS.

Abstract Background To understand cellular morphology, biologists have relied on traditional optical microscopy of tissues combined with tissue clearing protocols to image structures deep within tissues. Unfortunately, these protocols often struggle to retain cell boundary markers, especially at high enough resolutions necessary for precise cell ...

Embryos are particularly sensitive to thermal challenge. Antarctic fish embryos raised at projected Southern Ocean temperatures hatch during the winter, have a high incidence of morphological abnormalities, have shorter body lengths, and express genes indicative of cellular stress.

Epidermolytic ichthyosis: Clinical spectrum and burden of disease in a large German cohort [PDF]
Background Keratinopathic ichthyoses are a group of hereditary skin disorders caused by pathogenic variants in keratin genes such as KRT1, KRT2 and KRT10, resulting in conditions such as epidermolytic ichthyosis (EI), autosomal-recessive EI, superficial

Defining Gene Expression in Normal Human Epidermal Keratinocytes and Melanocytes: A Prerequisite for Understanding Hyperplastic and Neoplastic Pathology [PDF]
To define pathologic alterations, a reference of normal cells is needed in order to interpret genomic methods that study gene expression of melanocytes and keratinocytes in growth-activated or neoplastic skin diseases. Historically, mRNAs isolated from
