The thinnest, steepest, and maximum elevation Corneal locations in noncontact and contact lens wearers in keratoconus [PDF]
PURPOSE:: To assess the relationship between the thinnest corneal location and the steepest and maximum elevation corneal locations in subjects with keratoconus and the effect of gas permeable contact lens wear on the location of these points.

Ocular surface characteristics and its association with soft contact lens fitting
Abstract Purpose To analyse the associations between ocular surface shape parameters and soft contact lens fitting. Methods A total of 106 eyes of 53 participants (53 right and 53 left eyes) fitted with standard silicone hydrogel soft lenses were analysed retrospectively.

The role of astigmatism in myopia development, myopia progression and myopia control
Abstract Aims/Purpose Myopia arises primarily due to excessive axial elongation and is associated with an increased risk of ocular complications and visual impairment, particularly in high myopia. Although astigmatism may have implications on refractive development, the role of astigmatism in myopic eye growth and the effectiveness of myopia control ...

Impact of contact lens correction on wavefront aberrations and vision quality in keratoconus
Abstract Purpose To review the optical principles of contact lens correction in keratoconus, with a focus on residual ocular wavefront error and its impact on vision performance. Findings Corneal rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses, commonly used in keratoconus management, often fail to improve vision quality to levels observed in non‐diseased ...

Abstract The technique of measuring the corneal power by keratometry is reviewed. The importance of the keratometer index for the translation of the radius into dioptric power is explained, and evidence is given that the conventional index of 1.3375 gives a corneal power which is higher than the physiological value.
