Simultaneous Corneal Topography and Epithelial Thickness Mapping from a Single Measurement Using Optical Coherence Tomography

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Purpose. To evaluate the performance of corneal epithelial thickness mapping (ETM) and demonstrate simultaneous measurement of ETMs and corneal topography using REVO NX (Optopol Technology, Zawiercie, Poland)—an OCT device for anterior and posterior segment imaging. Methods. One hundred thirty‐seven eyes of 137 normal subjects and patients with corneal

Combinatorial therapeutic drug delivery of riboflavin and dexamethasone for the treatment of keratoconus affected corneas of mice: Ex vivo permeation and hemolytic toxicity

open access: yesMicro &Nano Letters, Volume 16, Issue 10, Page 492-499, 2 September 2021., 2021
Abstract The aim of this study was to formulate the thermoreversible gel containing riboflavin and dexamethasone to treat keratoconus. Gel was prepared by the cold method by mixing the poloxamer 407 as a thermosensitive polymer and HPMC as viscosity enhancing agent. The formulation was evaluated for pH, clarity, isotonicity, visual appearance.

Effect of Myopic Femtosecond Laser‐Assisted LASIK on Anterior Chamber Inflammation (Flare Values) and Corneal Endothelium: A Prospective before and after Study

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
Purpose. This study aimed to investigate whether femtosecond laser‐assisted LASIK (FS‐LASIK) surgery causes inflammation in the anterior chamber and to analyze its effect on endothelial cells. Methods. This prospective, longitudinal study included left eyes of 30 patients (19 females) who had undergone FS‐LASIK surgery due to myopia and myopic ...

Toric Intraocular Lens Implantation in the Correction of Moderate‐To‐High Corneal Astigmatism in Cataract Patients: Clinical Efficacy and Safety

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
Background/Aims. To investigate the long‐term efficacy and rotational stability of toric intraocular lenses (IOLs) implanted for the correction of moderate‐to‐high corneal astigmatism. Methods. A total of 57 cataract patients (57 eyes) with regular corneal astigmatism (≥2.57 D) were enrolled in this retrospective cohort study.

Cycloplegic Effects on the Cylindrical Components of the Refraction

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
It is important to predict which astigmatic patients require separate refraction for near vision. This study compared cylindrical components changes by cyclopentolate 1% for the low and high amount of astigmatism. The right eyes of 1014 healthy individuals (307 males and 707 females) with cylindrical refractive power more than −0.5 diopter on ...

[Retracted] Ultrasound Biomicroscopy Diagnosis Analysis and Fine Care of Anterior Segment Injury of Traumatic Anterior Chamber Based on Intelligent Virtual Reality Technology

open access: yesJournal of Healthcare Engineering, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
The front part of the eye is exposed to the surface of the body, making it susceptible to injury. Blunt eye injuries often destroy the tissue structure in the anterior part of the eye. Often there is detachment of the iris root, separation of the ciliary body, the angle of retraction of the chamber, and complete dislocation or subluxation of the lens ...

Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty for endothelial decompensation after previous radial keratotomy

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports, 2019
Purpose: To report Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) for endothelial decompensation in an eye with previous radial keratotomy. Observations: A history of radial keratotomy may hasten endothelial dysfunction.
