AIR KERMA TO Hp(3) CONVERSION COEFFICIENTS FOR IEC 61267 RQR X-RAY RADIATION QUALITIES: APPLICATION TO DOSE MONITORING OF THE LENS OF THE EYE IN MEDICAL DIAGNOSTICS.

open access: yesRadiation Protection Dosimetry, 2016
Recent studies highlight the fact that the new eye lens dose limit can be exceeded in interventional radiology procedures and that eye lens monitoring could be required for these workers.

Production of arsenical bronze using speiss on the Elephantine Island (Aswan, Egypt) during the Middle Kingdom (Middle Bronze Age) (c.2000–1650 BCE)

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper presents the first direct evidence of the slags produced during the cementation alloying process of Cu with speiss inside ceramic crucibles, thus representing Cu alloying with As in Middle Kingdom Egypt. The settlement deposits from the Middle Bronze Age were excavated on Elephantine Island, within modern Aswan.

MTS-6 detectors calibration by using 239Pu-Be neutron source

open access: yesMedycyna Pracy, 2017
Background: Thermoluminescent detectors, type MTS-6, containing isotope 6Li (lithium) are sensitive in the range of thermal neutron energy; the 239Pu-Be (plutonium-and-beryllium) source emits neutrons in the energy range from 1 to 11 MeV. These seemingly

Real‐Time 3D Mapping Corrects Fluoroscopic Misperception During Pulmonary Vein Isolation by Pulsed Field Ablation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
In a three‐phase comparison (fluoroscopy‐only, 3D‐blinded, and real‐time 3D‐EAM), 23.8% of blinded procedures missed at least one pulmonary vein. Real‐time 3D mapping eliminated missed veins and reduced PVI applications. 3D‐EAM, three‐dimensional electroanatomical mapping; CT, computed tomography; LA, left atrium; PV, pulmonary vein.

Pulsed Field Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation in Patients With Obesity: Procedural and Clinical Outcomes

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Procedural and clinical outcomes in patients with obesity undergoing catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF) have been mixed. Clinical data in the context of pulsed field ablation (PFA) are currently limited in this patient cohort.

Characterization of a new radiochromic film (LD-V1) using mammographic beam qualities

open access: yesZeitschrift für Medizinische Physik
Purpose: Radiochromic film (RCF) is a detector that can obtain a two-dimensional dose distribution with high resolution; it is widely used in medical and industrial fields. Several types of RCFs exist based on their application.
