Single-Cell RNA-Sequencing Data Clustering via Locality Preserving Kernel Matrix Alignment

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) data provide opportunities to reveal new insights into many biological problems such as elucidating cell types. An effective approach to elucidate cell types in complex tissues is to partition the cells into several

Improving "bag-of-keypoints" image categorisation: Generative Models and PDF-Kernels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper we propose two distinct enhancements to the basic ''bag-of-keypoints" image categorisation scheme proposed in [4]. In this approach images are represented as a variable sized set of local image features (keypoints).

BACH, a Bayesian Optimization Protocol for Accurate Coarse‐Grained Parameterization of Organic Liquids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a fully automated Bayesian optimization (BO) protocol for the parameterization of nonbonded interactions in coarse‐grain CG force fields (BACH). Using experimental thermophysical data, we apply the protocol to a broad range of liquids, spanning linear, branched, and unsaturated hydrocarbons, esters, triglycerides, and water.

Light‐Actuated Fiber‐Climbing Inchworm Robot Toward Endoluminal Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A kirigami‐inspired soft inchworm robot harnesses optical energy from a customized side‐emitting optical fiber, guaranteeing its propulsion along the fiber body. The wavelength‐selective responsiveness of dye‐functionalized liquid crystal elastomers and the application of temporal illumination patterns enable sequential control of robot components. The

An Analysis Method of Crowd Abnormal Behavior for Video Service Robot

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Abnormal behavior analysis in crowded scenes is a challenging task in the computer vision field. Determining how to quickly and accurately locate abnormal behavior in a crowd, especially in airports, shopping malls, stations, and other practical ...

Texoskeletons: Developing the Fundamental Technologies for Creating Intelligent Soft Robotic Clothing With Integrated 1D Sensors and Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Traditional wearable exoskeletons rely on rigid structures, which limit comfort, flexibility, and everyday usability. This work introduces the fundamental technologies to create the first soft, lightweight, intelligent textile‐based exoskeletons (Texoskeletons) built using 1D sensors and actuators.

Unveiling the Role of Curvature in Carbon for Improved Energy Release of Ammonium Perchlorate

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
High‐curvature carbon materials identified via machine learning and simulation can enhance the heat release and combustion performance of ammonium perchlorate. ABSTRACT The catalytic role of carbon curvature in the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP) remains largely unexplored. To address this gap, this study employs machine learning and

RegPT: Direct and fast calculation of regularized cosmological power spectrum at two-loop order

open access: yes, 2012
We present a specific prescription for the calculation of cosmological power spectra, exploited here at two-loop order in perturbation theory (PT), based on the multi-point propagator expansion.
