Semiparametric linear regression with censored data and stochastic regressors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We propose three new estimation procedures in the linear regression model with randomly-right censored data when the distribution function of the error term is unspecified, regressors are stochastic and the distribution function of the censoring variable

Training Mahalanobis Kernels by Linear Programming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The covariance matrix in the Mahalanobis distance can be trained by semi-definite programming, but training for a large size data set is inefficient. In this paper, we constrain the covariance matrix to be diagonal and train Mahalanobis kernels by linear programming (LP).

Large‐Scale and Cost‐Effective Fabrication of Ultra‐Thin, Biodegradable Microelectrode Arrays and Pressure Sensors Using Laser Micromachining

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A mask‐free and cost‐effective UV‐pico‐second laser‐based microfabrication method is proposed to fabricate large‐area biodegradable microelectrode arrays and pressure sensors. These devices demonstrate low impedance, good conformability, excellent biocompatibility, and rapid degradation, providing a new route for next‐generation transient electronics ...

Reproducing kernel methods for solving linear initial-boundary-value problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2008
In this paper, a reproducing kernel with polynomial form is used for finding analytical and approximate solutions of a second-order hyperbolic equation with linear initial-boundary conditions.

Flexible Chemiresistive Chitosan‐Glycerol Sensors on Laser‐Induced Graphene Electrodes for Room‐Temperature Ammonia Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible Chitosan‐glycerol sensor integrated with porous laser‐induced graphene (LIG) electrodes enable room‐temperature chemiresistive detection of ammonia (NH3) and proof‐of‐concept detection of fish spoilage. ABSTRACT We report a metal‐free sensor platform combining laser induced graphene (LIG) electrodes with drop‐deposited, glycerol‐plasticized ...

Local Linear Fitting Under Near Epoch Dependence: Uniform consistency with Convergence Rates [PDF]

open access: yes
Local linear fitting is a popular nonparametric method in statistical and econometric modelling. Lu and Linton (2007) established the pointwise asymptotic distribution for the local linear estimator of a nonparametric regression function under the ...

Kernel Negative ε Dragging Linear Regression for Pattern Classification

open access: yesComplexity, 2017
Linear regression (LR) and its variants have been widely used for classification problems. However, they usually predefine a strict binary label matrix which has no freedom to fit the samples.

Buckling‐Driven Linearity in Flexible Capacitive Pressure Sensors Based on a Three‐Dimensional Dual‐Pore Polyurethane Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible pressure sensor utilizing a 3D dual‐pore polyurethane structure is developed to overcome the intrinsic trade‐off between sensitivity and linearity. By inducing sequential buckling through distinct pore sizes and shapes, the device achieves highly linear and sensitive responses across a wide pressure range.

Efficient Regression in Time Series Partial Linear Models [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper studies efficient estimation of partial linear regression in time series models. In particular, it combines two topics that have attracted a good deal of attention in econometrics, viz.

Online learning with (multiple) kernels : a review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This review examines kernel methods for online learning, in particular, multiclass classification. We examine margin-based approaches, stemming from Rosenblatt's original perceptron algorithm, as well as nonparametric probabilistic approaches that are ...
