Conductive Additives for Next‐Generation Batteries: Emphasizing the Potential of Bio‐Derived 3D Carbon Architectures at Electrode–Electrolyte Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
3D conductive frameworks can maintain continuous electron transport, mechanical stability, and interfacial integrity, helping next‐generation batteries operate more efficiently. This Review examines their relevance to Si anodes, all‐solid‐state batteries, and dry‐processed electrodes, and highlights bio‐derived carbons as sustainable, structurally ...

ON THE KERNEL METHOD COMPARED TO THE MATRIX INVERSION METHOD FOR PASSING FROM A DUAL BASIS TO THE BASIS OF A VECTOR SPACE

open access: yesAl-Ulum
In this work, we study and compare two methods for passing from a dual basis to the basis of a finite-dimensional vector space by recalling the passage from a basis to its dual.

Large‐Scale and Cost‐Effective Fabrication of Ultra‐Thin, Biodegradable Microelectrode Arrays and Pressure Sensors Using Laser Micromachining

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A mask‐free and cost‐effective UV‐pico‐second laser‐based microfabrication method is proposed to fabricate large‐area biodegradable microelectrode arrays and pressure sensors. These devices demonstrate low impedance, good conformability, excellent biocompatibility, and rapid degradation, providing a new route for next‐generation transient electronics ...

Flexible Chemiresistive Chitosan‐Glycerol Sensors on Laser‐Induced Graphene Electrodes for Room‐Temperature Ammonia Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible Chitosan‐glycerol sensor integrated with porous laser‐induced graphene (LIG) electrodes enable room‐temperature chemiresistive detection of ammonia (NH3) and proof‐of‐concept detection of fish spoilage. ABSTRACT We report a metal‐free sensor platform combining laser induced graphene (LIG) electrodes with drop‐deposited, glycerol‐plasticized ...

Kernel methods in machine learning

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 2008
We review machine learning methods employing positive definite kernels. These methods formulate learning and estimation problems in a reproducing kernel Hilbert space (RKHS) of functions defined on the data domain, expanded in terms of a kernel. Working in linear spaces of function has the benefit of facilitating the construction and analysis of ...

Buckling‐Driven Linearity in Flexible Capacitive Pressure Sensors Based on a Three‐Dimensional Dual‐Pore Polyurethane Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible pressure sensor utilizing a 3D dual‐pore polyurethane structure is developed to overcome the intrinsic trade‐off between sensitivity and linearity. By inducing sequential buckling through distinct pore sizes and shapes, the device achieves highly linear and sensitive responses across a wide pressure range.

Exciton Radiative Lifetimes in Hexagonal Diamond Ge and SixGe1–x Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Strong room‐temperature photoluminescence reported in hexagonal Ge conflicts with theory predicting a nearly dark band edge. First‐principles calculations of excitonic radiative lifetimes fill a key gap in this debate, showing that pristine hexagonal Ge remains intrinsically weakly emissive, while Si alloying only modestly shortens the lifetime and ...

Leveraging Random Effects in Cistrome‐Wide Association Studies for Decoding the Genetic Determinants of Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Cistrome‐wide association studies (CWAS) are pivotal for identifying genetic determinants of diseases by correlating genetically regulated cistrome states with phenotypes. Traditional CWAS typically develops a model based on cistrome and genotype data to

Data‐Efficient Electromagnetic Surrogate Solver Through Dissipative Relaxation Transfer Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Dissipative relaxation transfer learning (DIRTL) enables data‐efficient training of electromagnetic surrogate solvers by pretraining data generated with artificial material loss before fine‐tuning on target lossless data. The framework suppresses resonant outlier effects during early training, allowing effective adaptation to high‐amplitude resonances ...

Scientific Impact Prediction via Virtual Geography Hawkes Process

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This brief proposes a novel Virtual-Geography Hawkes Process (VG-Hawkes) to model citation dynamics considering academic networks. The VG-Hawkes model incorporates academic relationships between authors as virtual distances by extending the conventional ...
