DDSurfer reconstructs cortical surfaces directly from diffusion MRI without requiring T1‐weighted scans. By fusing complementary microstructural features and learning diffeomorphic deformations, it efficiently generates accurate white matter and pial surfaces, improving geometric fidelity and morphometric reliability across datasets for robust surface ...

Optimized smoothing kernels for SPH
We present a set of new smoothing kernels for smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) that improve the convergence of the method without any additional computational cost. These kernels are generated through a linear combination of other SPH kernels, combined with an optimization strategy to minimize the error in the Gresho-Chan vortex test case.

An empirical‐aided active learning framework is developed to optimize high‐throughput laser‐induced photothermal annealing of silicon suboxide anodes. By integrating probabilistic machine learning with empirical domain knowledge, this approach achieves optimal electrochemical performance using limited experiments.

Gap‐Free Information Transfer in 4D‐STEM via Fusion of Complementary Scattering Channels
Fused Full‐Field STEM (FF‐STEM) is introduced as a 4D‐STEM imaging modality that combines direct ptychography with tilt‐corrected dark‐field reconstruction in a single acquisition. Fourier‐space fusion using Wiener‐type spectral weighting closes the low‐frequency contrast gap inherent to bright‐field methods, delivering gap‐free, dose‐efficient, near ...

A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43
Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

Kernel Smoothing in Semiparametric Regression
A semiparametric regression model consists of parametric explanatory part of the response as well as nonparametric regression function of one or more variable(s) interpreting the response. The basic semiparametric regression model involves a linear function of a single parametric covariate as well as an unknown but preferably nonlinear function of a ...

Mice can transfer the learned rule of spatial working memory to guide similar but novel tasks. Hippocampal CA3 populational activity dynamically reorganize during memory generalization, shifting from task‐specific to generalized coding over testing days. Sparse yet redundant neural representations of CA3 enable rule transfer and cognitive map formation,
