Thermal Casimir effect in Kerr space–time

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2015
We investigate the thermal Casimir effect of a massless scalar field for two parallel plates moving in the equatorial orbit in Kerr space-time. Under the assumption that the typical cavity size is much smaller than the orbital radius, proposed by Sorge, we deduce the analytical expression of the renormalized free energy in this curved space-time.

Structure-dependent polar kerr rotation in CoPt/AlN layered films

open access: yesApplied Surface Science Advances
Polar magneto-optical Kerr effect (P-MOKE) has found extensive applications in magnetic storage, magneto-optical sensors, and spintronic devices. In this study, we investigate the P-MOKE response of multilayer films composed of cobalt platinum (CoPt ...

Non-linear instability of slowly rotating Kerr-AdS black holes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Generic scalar perturbations on a fixed slowly rotating Kerr-AdS black hole background exhibit stable trapping, that is, the scalar field remains in a region between the exterior of the black hole and the AdS boundary for a very long time, decaying only ...

Deterministic generation of single dissipative Kerr solitons in a microresonator by continuous-wave triggering

open access: yesResults in Physics
We propose a continuous wave (CW) triggering method for simple deterministic generation of Kerr solitons by seeding a fixed-frequency pump driven nonlinear microresonator.

Observational Features of Black Holes

open access: yes, 2004
Recently considered a very attracting possibility to detect retro-MACHOs, i.e. retro-images of the Sun by a Schwarzschild black hole. In this paper we discuss glories (mirages) formed near rapidly rotating Kerr black hole horizons and propose a procedure
