Large nonlinear Kerr effect in graphene
Under strong laser illumination, few-layer graphene exhibits both a transmittance increase due to saturable absorption and a nonlinear phase shift.

Enhanced Self‐Phase Modulation in Silicon Nitride Waveguides Integrated With 2D MoS2 Films
ABSTRACT On‐chip integration of 2D materials provides a promising route toward next‐generation integrated optical devices with performance beyond existing limits. Here, significantly enhanced spectral broadening induced by self‐phase modulation (SPM) is experimentally demonstrated in silicon nitride (Si3N4) waveguides integrated with 2D monolayer ...

Researching on Hawking Effect in a Kerr Space Time via Open Quantum System Approach
It has been proposed that Hawking radiation from a Schwarzschild or a de Sitter spacetime can be understood as the manifestation of thermalization phenomena in the framework of an open quantum system.

Cross‐Phase Modulation via Time‐Varying Epsilon‐Near‐Zero Metasurfaces
Time‐varying epsilon‐near‐zero metasurfaces are shown to enable cross‐phase modulation beyond conventional ENZ excitation. By engineering dual absorption bands and exploiting oblique ultrafast pumping, large and broadband frequency translations are achieved at low pump energies.

We describe the fabrication of 3D polymeric waveguide architectures with tunability of waveguide diameter, lattice symmetry and long and short‐range order using an inexpensive (< $400 CAD) digital light projector. We demonstrate that Projector induced Waveguide Encoded Lattices (ProWELs) possess advanced functionality including tuneable Fields of View (

We prescribe a pseudo-Newtonian vector potential for studying accretion disks around Kerr black holes. The potential is useful to study the inner properties of disk not confined to the equatorial plane where general relativistic effect is indispensable ...

Multiplex Raman induced Kerr effect microscopy
We report spectrally-resolved chemical imaging based on Raman induced Kerr effect spectroscopy (RIKES). When used with circularly-polarized pump excitation, multiplex RIKES offers the potential for spectrally-resolved imaging free of the nonresonant background that plagues coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering.

Cellular Identity Crisis: RD3 Loss Fuels Plasticity and Immune Silence in Progressive Neuroblastoma
Researchers discovered that therapy‐induced loss of RD3 protein in neuroblastoma triggers a dangerous shift: cancer cells become more stem‐like, invasive, and resistant to treatment while evading immune detection. RD3 loss suppresses antigen presentation and boosts immune checkpoints, creating an immune‐silent environment.

Critical Tidal Currents in General Relativity
Relativistic tidal equations are formulated with respect to the rest frame of a central gravitational source and their solutions are studied. The existence of certain relativistic critical tidal currents are thereby elucidated.
