A novel pilot animal model for bone augmentation using osseous shell technique for preclinical in vivo studies

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 8, Issue 6, Page 1331-1340, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objectives Bone grafting is commonly used to reconstruct skeletal defects in the craniofacial region. Several bone augmentation models have been developed to evaluate bone formation using novel bone substitute materials. The aim of this study was to evaluate a surgical animal model for establishing a three‐dimensional (3D) grafting environment

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides an overview of recent advances in covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for photocatalysis, focusing on sustainable energy applications like water splitting, hydrogen peroxide generation, and CO2 and N2 reduction. It discusses design principles, structure‐function relationships, challenges in COF photocatalysis, and strategies to ...

Sealing ability in vitro study and biocompatibility in vivo animal study of different bioceramic based sealers

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 8, Issue 6, Page 1582-1590, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Introduction The effectiveness of root canal therapy in endodontic practice is largely determined by providing a compact fluid‐tight closure at the apex of the root canal, which inhibits irritant entry and buildup, which leads to a biological breakdown of the attachment mechanism and failure.

Nasal respiration is necessary for ketamine-dependent high frequency network oscillations and behavioral hyperactivity in rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Changes in oscillatory activity are widely reported after subanesthetic ketamine, however their mechanisms of generation are unclear. Here, we tested the hypothesis that nasal respiration underlies the emergence of high-frequency oscillations (130–180 Hz,

Inhalable Hsa‐miR‐30a‐3p Liposomes Attenuate Pulmonary Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study explores inhalable hsa‐miR‐30a‐3p‐loaded liposomes as a treatment for bleomycin‐induced pulmonary fibrosis in mice. Hsa‐miR‐30a‐3p is electroporated into liposomes and formulated into a dry powder for inhalation. Delivered via dry powder inhalation, it improves pulmonary function, promotes myofibroblast de‐differentiation by targeting CNPY2 ...

Ketamine Infusion for Sedation and Analgesia during Mechanical Ventilation in the ICU: A Multicenter Evaluation

open access: yesCritical Care Research and Practice, 2022
Rationale. Ketamine can provide dissociative sedation and analgesia for mechanically ventilated ICU patients, yet it has been utilized less than other drugs for this purpose. Methods. We reviewed the electronic medical record of critically ill adults who

Roles of Kdm6a and Kdm6b in Regulation of Mammalian Neural Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that Kdm6a plays key roles in repressing either peripheral nervous system (PNS) or central nervous system (CNS) axon regeneration, whereas Kdm6b is not involved in regulating CNS axon regeneration. Moreover, both demethylases are able to regulate CNS neuronal survival after injury, but with non‐overlapping mechanisms.

Ketamine for Refractory Headache: A Retrospective Analysis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The burden of chronic headache disorders in the United States is substantial. Some patients are treatment refractory. Ketamine, an N-methyl-D-aspartate antagonist, provides potent analgesia in subanesthetic doses in chronic ...

Molecular Recognition of Ketamine by a Subset of Olfactory G Protein–coupled Receptors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Ketamine elicits various neuropharmacological effects, including sedation, analgesia, general anesthesia, and antidepressant activity. Through an in vitro screen, we identified four mouse olfactory receptors (ORs) that responded to ketamine.
