Chemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 2, 9 January 2026.We use readily available epoxides and 0.5 mol% bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonimide (Tf2N) as a catalyst to synthesize a broad range of aldehydes in yields ranging from 89% to 97%. Furthermore, we identified aldehyde dimerization intermediates at lower temperatures and observed their cleavage at 55 °C.
