The revision of baphetids from the Middle Pennsylvanian of the Czech Republic: Morphology, ontogeny, palaeoecology, and the reassessment of the phylogeny of Baphetoidea

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 7, Page 1766-1787, July 2026.
Abstract The baphetoids represent a clade of the Carboniferous stem‐tetrapods (Middle Mississippian—Middle Pennsylvanian) with a characteristic extension of the orbits into antorbital vacuities, which formed keyhole‐shaped openings on the skull. The more derived baphetids were crocodile‐like piscivores frequently occurring in coal‐bearing lacustrine ...

Microstructure and Fracture Behavior of Refill Friction Stir Spot Welded Joints of AA2024 Using a Novel Refill Technique

open access: yesMetals, 2019
Keyhole at the end of a conventional friction stir welded (FSW) joint is one of the major concerns in certain applications. To address this issue, a novel keyhole refilling technique was developed for conventional friction stir spot welding (FSSW) using ...

Radial Artery Catheter Complications Based on Site, Dressing and Application Technique: A Descriptive Observational Study

open access: yesNursing in Critical Care, Volume 31, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Radial artery catheters are commonly used in intensive care units to monitor the vital signs of patients. Aim This study was carried out to evaluate the complications of radial artery catheters that are used in intensive care in terms of catheter sites, catheter dressings and catheterization techniques.

Transient Model for Keyhole During Laser Welding [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A novel approach to simulating the dominant dynamic processes present during concentrated energy beam welding of metals is presented. A model for transient behavior of the front keyhole wall is developed.

Elongated cavities during keyhole laser welding

open access: yes, 2021
During laser beam deep penetration welding, the characteristic keyhole occurs that enables efficient energy absorption due to multiple reflections. Since this welding mode usually shows high dynamic behaviour, often a high amount of weld imperfections ...

Enhancement of OCT signal interpretability in deep penetration laser welding of aluminum

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Joining Processes
In laser deep penetration welding a constant weld depth is an essential quality measure that is usually obtained by in-line process monitoring techniques such as optical coherence tomography (OCT).

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 11, 3 June 2026.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.
