Mechanism of keyhole evolution and welding quality of electron beam welded magnesium alloy with scanning path variation via modeling and numerical study

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys
Welding quality of electron beam welded joint is usually susceptible to the stability of keyhole during welding process. The more stable the keyhole, the better the welding quality.

Mixing‐Driven Defects and Composition Evolution in Multi‐Material Metal Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 45, 13 August 2026.
Operando synchrotron X‐ray imaging coupled with high‐fidelity multiphysics modeling uncovers how inter‐material mixing reshapes keyhole dynamics and drives distinct pore‐formation pathways in multi‐material laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). Composition‐dependent instabilities trigger defects, whereas rescanning suppresses porosity and homogenizes Cu ...

Numerical simulation of periodic fluctuation in electron beam welding pool

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2019
In order to further explore the mechanism during electron beam welding, electron beam welding was carried out on a 10mm 2219 aluminum alloy. A three-dimensional electron beam welding model in which volume of fluid (VOF) was combined with dynamic heat ...

New craniodental materials of Falcarius utahensis (Theropoda: Therizinosauria) reveal patterns of intraspecific variation and cranial evolution in early coelurosaurians

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 8, Page 1995-2048, August 2026.
Abstract Despite documented ecomorphological shifts toward an herbivorous diet in several coelurosaurian lineages, the evolutionary tempo and mode of these changes remain poorly understood, hampered by sparse cranial materials for early representatives of major clades. This is particularly true for Therizinosauria, with representative crania best known

Enhancement of OCT signal interpretability in deep penetration laser welding of aluminum

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Joining Processes
In laser deep penetration welding a constant weld depth is an essential quality measure that is usually obtained by in-line process monitoring techniques such as optical coherence tomography (OCT).

Morphodynamic adjustment in a watershed affected by megafires: Deadman River, British Columbia, Canada

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 8, August 2026.
The Deadman River watershed (British Columbia, Canada) was severely impacted by the Sparks Lake Fire in 2021. Timelapse photogrammetry reveals sharp post‐fire channel widening and increase in migration rate. Through multispectral remote‐sensing analysis, these morphodynamic changes are related to burn severity affecting the watershed.

Synergistic Enhancement of Strength and Creep Resistance in Additive Manufacturing Ti‐6.5Al‐2Zr‐Mo‐V Alloy via In Situ Co‐Modification With Si and Y Elements

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The demand for advanced aerospace components necessitates near‐α titanium alloys with enhanced high‐temperature performance and compatibility with additive manufacturing (AM). To address this, an in situ alloying strategy was employed to co‐modify a Ti‐6.5Al‐2Zr‐Mo‐V alloy with Si and Y during laser powder bed fusion.

Remote Telesurgery Versus Local Minimally Invasive Surgery: A Systematic Review of the Comparative Evidence Base

open access: yesThe International Journal of Medical Robotics and Computer Assisted Surgery, Volume 22, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Remote telesurgery allows surgeons to operate over a distance using robotic systems and advanced networks. This review aims to compare remote telesurgery with local minimally invasive surgery (MIS) regarding patient outcomes and system‐level outcomes.

An analysis of the effects of a campaign supporting use of a health symbol on food sales and shopping behaviour of consumers

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2017
Background Since 2009, the green Keyhole symbol has been a joint Nordic initiative for signalling healthfulness of specific food products. In 2014, the Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries carried out a campaign aimed mainly at men over 35 ...
