Impact of bulk density assignment of bone on MRI‐based abdominal region radiotherapy planning for MR‐linac workflow

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the impact of bone relative electron density (rED) assignment on radiotherapy planning for the abdominal region. Methods Twenty patients who received abdominal radiotherapy using MR‐Linac and underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) simulation were analyzed.

A rare cause of recurrent spontaneous pneumothorax: Birt-hogg-dube syndrome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Birt-Hogg-Dube (BHD) syndrome is an unusual disorder characterized by the triad of cutaneous lesions, renal tumors and lung cysts. In cases with BHD syndrome, the frequency of recurrent pneumothorax is increased due to presence of multiple lung cysts. It

Neoplasms in budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus): clinical, pathomorphological and serological findings with special consideration of kidney tumours.

open access: yesAvian Pathology, 1983
According to findings of others and to our own investigations, kidney tumours represent a remarkably high proportion of all tumours in budgerigars. Therefore, 74 budgerigars, clinically suspicious for abdominal tumours, were analysed individually by ...

C-arm Tomographic Imaging Technique for Nephrolithiasis and Detection of Kidney Stones [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
In this paper, we investigated a C-arm tomographic technique as a new three dimensional (3D) kidney imaging method for nephrolithiasis and kidney stone detection over view angle less than 180o. Our C-arm tomographic technique provides a series of two dimensional (2D) images with a single scan over 40o view angle.

Geometric and dosimetric evaluation of a commercial AI auto‐contouring tool on multiple anatomical sites in CT scans

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Current radiotherapy practices rely on manual contouring of CT scans, which is time‐consuming, prone to variability, and requires highly trained experts. There is a need for more efficient and consistent contouring methods. This study evaluated the performance of the Varian Ethos AI auto‐contouring tool to assess its potential integration into

Imaging Diagnosis and Management of Cystic Renal Masses: Introduction of an Update Proposal Bosniak Classification Version 2019

open access: yes대한영상의학회지, 2019
Cystic renal masses are commonly encountered in daily clinical practice. Improvements in the resolution of imaging modalities have led to an improved ability to detect cystic renal masses. It is important for radiologists to recognize and appropriately

A Comprehensive Correlation of Clinicopathologic Prognostic Factors in Malignant Adult Renal Tumors: A Single Institutional Study [PDF]

open access: yesTürk Patoloji Dergisi
Objective: To study the clinicopathologic prognostic parameters of malignant adult renal tumors as these have poor over-all survival (OS) and show frequent metastasis. Material and Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of the clinical and pathologic

Malignant lymphomas in transplantation patients: a review of the world experience. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
Malignant lymphomas developed in 9 renal homograft recipients treated at widely separated transplantation centers. The development of these tumors appears to be an indirect complication of organ transplantation and/or the measures taken to prevent ...

Risk of basal cell carcinoma after Hodgkin's disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Background: Basal cell cancer is a common skin cancer, yet studies of second tumors after Hodgkin's disease tend to exclude basal cell cancers as second malignant tumors from analysis.

Evaluation of internal target volume of abdominal tumors using cine‐MRI

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction The detailed anatomy visualization with magnetic resonance (MR)‐guided radiotherapy is particularly attractive for abdominal treatments, but patient respiratory motion can compromise image quality. The “navigator technique” produces high‐quality 3D images, triggered by diaphragm displacement, in exhale phase only.
