Electrical properties and kinematic viscosity of biodiesel

Fuel, 2021
Abstract Kinematic viscosity and electrical properties (permittivity and electrical conductivity) of biodiesel samples were determined in the temperature range between 298 K and 343 K. The samples were produced from sunflower, olive, canola, corn, soybean, grapeseed and jatropha vegetable oils.

The Italian primary kinematic viscosity standard: The viscosity scale

Measurement, 2017
Abstract The base for all viscosity measurements is the internationally accepted viscosity of double-distilled water at 20 °C. Using this water and liquids of ever greater viscosity, INRiM derives by a step-up procedure the constants for its master “glass capillary” Ubbelohde viscometers, and these are used in their turn to determine the viscosity of

Kinematic Viscosities of Poly(ethylene glycols)

Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 1999
Kinematic viscosities data have been obtained as a function of temperature for poly(ethylene glycols) with different molecular weights. The viscosity measurements were performed at ambient pressure and several temperatures ranging from 293.15 (or above their melting points) to 363.15 K.

Estimation of the kinematic viscosities of bio-oil/alcohol blends: Kinematic viscosity-temperature formula and mixing rules

Fuel, 2019
Abstract In this work, the kinematic viscosities of a series of bio-oil/alcohol blends (BO/AL blends) with various match ratio were measured at different temperatures (20, 30, 40, 50, 60 °C). The results showed that the kinematic viscosities of BO/AL blends decreased with elevating temperature.

An accurate estimation method of kinematic viscosity for standard viscosity liquids

International Journal of Thermophysics, 1992
Deming's method of least squares is introduced to make an accurate kinematic viscosity estimation for a series of 13 standard-viscosity liquids at any desired temperature. The empirical ASTM kinematic viscosity-temperature equation is represented in the form loglog(v+c)=a−b log T, where v (in mm2. s−1) is the kinematic viscosity at temperature T (in K),

Gravimetric capillary method for kinematic viscosity measurements

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1992
A novel version of the capillary method for viscosity measurements of liquids is presented. Viscosity data can be deduced in a straightforward way from mass transfer data obtained by differential weighing during the gravity-induced flow of the liquid between two cylindrical chambers. Tests of this technique with water, carbon tetrachloride, and ethanol

ASTM Viscosity Index Tables Calculated from Kinematic Viscosity

1965
These tables were prepared to provide a convenient means of obtaining the Viscosity Index of petroleum products and lubricants without the necessity of calculation. They have been prepared under the guidance of Research Division VII on Flow Properties, of ASTM Committee D-2 on Petroleum Products and Lubricants.

Kinematic Viscosity Scale and Uncertainty

2014
Step up procedure, starting with primary standard (water), for establishing kinematic viscosity scale in terms of standard viscometers and oils has been explained in detail. Measurement system of viscosity at three levels has been discussed. Details of master capillary viscometers of different viscometer constants are prescribed.

Kinematic viscosities of New Zealand skim-milk

Journal of Dairy Research, 1978
SummaryThe variation in kinematic viscosity (ν) with solids concentration and temperature has been determined for native skim-milk concentrates and reconstituted New Zealand skim-milk. Below 40% (w/v) total solids, samples reconstituted from a single batch of skim-milk powder model the behaviour of native concentrates obtained from an evaporation plant

Standard Methods for Calculating Viscosity Index from Kinematic Viscosity

1972
This Standard is issued under the fixed designation D 2270: the number immediately following the designation indicates the year of original adoption or. in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.
