Constraints on deformation of the Southern Andes since the Cretaceous from anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility [PDF]
The southernmost segment of the Andean Cordillera underwent a complex deformation history characterized by alternation of contractional, extensional, and strike-slip tectonics.

Kinematic Modeling of Distant Galaxies
Evolution of galaxies is one of the most actual topics in astrophysics. Among the most important factors determining the evolution are two galactic components which are difficult or even impossible to detect optically: the gaseous disks and the dark ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Orbit Dynamics and Kinematics with Full Quaternions [PDF]
Abstract Full quaternions constitute a compact notation for describing the motion of a body in the space. An important result about full quaternions is that they can be partitioned into a unit quaternion (which describes the orientation with respect to a suitable reference), and a modulus (which represents the translational motion along the direction

A CMOS‐compatible, all‐dielectric Silicon‐on‐Glass reflective metasurface enables low–loss terahertz wavefront control for future 6G wireless communication. Mie‐resonant silicon pillars provide full phase coverage near 500 GHz, achieving experimentally validated single‐, dual‐, and five‐beam steering with sub‐1.5° angular error and less than 3 dB ...

Kinematics and Dynamics for Computer Animation [PDF]
This tutorial will focus on the physical principles of kinematics and dynamics. After explaining the basic equations for point masses and rigid bodies a new approach for the dynamic simulation of multi-linked models with wobbling mass is presented, which has led to new insight in the field of biomechanics, but which has not been used in computer ...

On the Formation of Tails in the Galactic Tidal Field
The trajectories of stars of a cluster moving in the Schuster-Plummer potential on a circular orbit in the Galactic plane (Bok’s problem) are investigated. The impact of initial conditions on stellar motions, in particular on the possibility of escape of
