Langevin Dynamics With General Kinetic Energies [PDF]

open access: yesMultiscale Modeling & Simulation, 2018
We study Langevin dynamics with a kinetic energy different from the standard, quadratic one in order to accelerate the sampling of Boltzmann-Gibbs distributions. In particular, this kinetic energy can be non-globally Lipschitz, which raises issues for the stability of discretizations of the associated Langevin dynamics.

Human Context Detection From Kinetic Energy Harvesting Wearables

open access: yes, 2017
Advances in energy harvesting hardware have created an opportunity for realizing self-powered wearables for continuous and pervasive Human Context Detection (HCD). Unfortunately, the power consumption of the continuous context sensing using accelerometer

Quantification of Cardiac Kinetic Energy and Its Changes During Transmural Myocardial Infarction Assessed by Multi-Dimensional Seismocardiography

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2021
Introduction: Seismocardiography (SCG) records cardiac and blood-induced motions transmitted to the chest surface as vibratory phenomena. Evidences demonstrate that acute myocardial ischemia (AMI) profoundly affects the SCG signals.

Design and Optimization of Support and Drive System for Magnetic Levitation Air Compressor for Fuel Cells

open access: yesActuators
The 5-degree-of-freedom active magnetic bearings (5-DOF AMB) and high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor (HPMSM) were combined and applied to energy-recovery-type air compressors for fuel cells, which gives full play to the advantages of both and ...

Analysis of the kinetic energy from fission fragments using dynamical model [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
It is known that the kinetic energy of individual fragments for fission of actinides is constant at about 100 MeV for light fragments and that for heavy fragments decreases with mass number.

Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detectors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Low temperature detectors have been a subject of intense interest to the scientific community over the last decade. These detectors work at very low temperatures, often well below 1 Kelvin, to minimize the noise in the measurement of photons.
