Fumarase: Viscosity dependence of the kinetic parameters

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1990
Fumarase catalyzes the reversible, stereospecific hydration of fumarate to form L-malate. We have determined the viscosity dependence of V/K and V in both the forward and the reverse directions at pH 6.9 in the absence and presence of several viscosogenic reagents.

Kinetic parameters in heterogeneous kinetics

Thermochimica Acta, 1992
Abstract The energy barrier model, which has been quite successful in describing homogeneous kinetics, also applies in heterogeneous kinetics. This becomes evident when the activation energy Ea, is split into an invariant component ΔH, the enthalpy change of the reaction, and a variable term ziv which gives the variation of the vibrational states ...

A reinvestigation of the kinetic parameters of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1971
Abstract A new assay for phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase has been devised whose sensitivity is sufficient to detect the formation by crude hepatic extracts of 1 × 10−11 moles of phosphoenolpyruvate. By the utilization of this assay it has been determined that the apparent Km of oxaloacetate is in the range of 1 to 5 × 10−6 M for the hepatic enzymes

Kinetic parameters

Journal of Thermal Analysis, 1978
The wide variations of calculated activation energies for solid decomposition suggests that there is no discrete activated state. Further, the statistical distribution on which the calculations are based is not a realistic concept. The lowest energy possible — and most frequently occurring — is the energy of the bulk crystal.

Measurements of Kinetic Parameters in a Microfluidic Reactor

Analytical Chemistry, 2006
Continuous flow microfluidic reactors that use immobilized components of enzymatic reactions present special challenges in interpretation of kinetic data. This study evaluates the difference between mass-transfer effects and reduced efficiencies of an enzyme reaction.

Identification of Kinetic Parameters

2011
This chapter provides a general introduction to the identification of mathematical models and to the methods for estimating the relevant adjustable parameters. First, the Bayesian approach is briefly discussed as compared to Popper’s falsificationism.

Kinetic parameters of kicking

1974
A concern of many investigators in biomechanics has been obtaining accurate information on the kinetics of rapid human motion. The history of forces and moments at the joints of accelerating limb segments undoubtedly will tell us something about the muscular forces involved and also about the neural control.

Quantifying the kinetic parameters of prion replication

Biophysical Chemistry, 1999
The mechanism of protein-only prion replication is controversial. A detailed mathematical model of prion replication by nucleated polymerisation is developed, and its parameters are estimated from published data. PrP-res decay is around two orders of magnitude slower than PrP-sen decay, a plausible ratio of two parameters estimated from very different ...

The kinetic parameters of switching autowaves

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2020
The kinetics of deformation processes at yield plateau in materials with dislocation and martensitic mechanisms for the implementation of shear processes at the microscopic level is studied. In both cases, the formation and propagation of switching autowaves occur, which are represented by the fronts of localized plastic deformation.
