Adapting Image‐Based Models for 1D Data via Spider Plot Transformation and Transfer Learning
A novel method enables the use of pretrained image‐based neural networks for complex 1D data, including Raman and mid‐infrared spectra, electrocardiograms, and mass spectrometry. 2D spider plots with false‐color fill enable transfer lerning, therefore enhancing data augmentation and model explainability across diverse spectral and time series datasets.

ABSTRACT Keratosis–ichthyosis–deafness (KID) syndrome is a rare autosomal dominant ectodermal disease caused by mutations in the GJB2 gene, which encodes the gap junction protein Connexin 26 (Cx26) located on Chr. 13q12.11. This study presents the first mortality analysis associated with KID syndrome, focusing on a case report of a Latin American ...

Klebsiella species: Taxonomy, hypervirulence and multidrug resistance
Summary: Members of the genus Klebsiella have rapidly evolved within the past decade, generating organisms that simultaneously exhibit both multidrug resistance and hypervirulence (MDR-hv) phenotypes; such organisms are associated with severe hospital ...

Successful treatment of lower urinary tract infections with oral fosfomycin: a report of three cases
Infections due to multidrug-resistant organisms continue to increase, and therapeutic options remain scarce. Given this challenge, it has become necessary to use older antimicrobials for treatment of these pathogens.

Polyvinyl Alcohol‐Based Cryogels: Design, Characterization, and In Vitro Biological Studies
ABSTRACT Using inappropriate wound dressings makes the wound prone to bacteria invasion, impeding the wound‐healing process. In this work, cryogels were prepared from selected polymers, such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC), and sodium alginate (SA) via a freeze–thaw method and loaded with Capparis sepiaria plant extract ...
