U_A(1) Breaking Effects on the Light Scalar Meson Spectrum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Effects of the U_A(1) breaking interaction on the low-lying nonet scalar mesons are studied using the extended Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. The strength of the U_A(1) breaking interaction is determined by the electromagnetic decays of the eta meson. We find

$X$ Meson aka $\eta'$ and Kobayashi-Maskawa-'t Hooft Six-quark Vertex -- $U(1)_A$ Anomaly and Generalized Nambu-Jona-Lasinio Model --

open access: yes, 2009
In 1970, Kobayashi and Maskawa concluded that an effective six-quark vertex with a determinantal form is necessary in the chiral effective models to account for the large mass of $X$ meson, which is now called the $\eta'$.

Systematic KMTNet Planetary Anomaly Search. IX. Complete Sample of 2016 Prime-field Planets

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2023
As a part of the “Systematic KMTNet Planetary Anomaly Search” series, we report five new planets (namely, OGLE-2016-BLG-1635Lb, MOA-2016-BLG-532Lb, KMT-2016-BLG-0625Lb, OGLE-2016-BLG-1850Lb, and KMT-2016-BLG-1751Lb) and one planet candidate (KMT-2016-BLG-

KMT-2022-BLG-0475Lb and KMT-2022-BLG-1480Lb: Microlensing ice giants detected via the non-caustic-crossing channel

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2023
Aims. We investigate the microlensing data collected in the 2022 season from high-cadence microlensing surveys in order to find weak signals produced by planetary companions to lenses. Methods. From these searches, we find that two lensing events, KMT-2022-BLG-0475 and KMT-2022-BLG-1480, exhibit weak short-term anomalies.

The Regional Development of Democratization and Civil Society: Transition, Consolidation, Hybridization, Globalization - Taiwan and Hungary [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Different starting points, similar processes and different outcomes can be identified when comparing East Central Europe and East and South Asia. The two regions face similar global challenges, follow regional patterns of democratization and face crises.

KMT-2022-BLG-2397: Brown Dwarf at the Upper Shore of the Einstein Desert

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2023
We measure the Einstein radius of the single-lens microlensing event KMT-2022-BLG-2397 to be θ _E = 24.8 ± 3.6 μ as, placing it at the upper shore of the Einstein Desert, 9 ≲ θ _E / μ as ≲ 25, between free-floating planets (FFPs) and bulge brown dwarfs ...

Four Planets Found through Microlensing Events Involving Faint Source Stars

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
To conduct a comprehensive demographic study of microlensing planets, it is essential to detect all planetary signals that exceed a predefined threshold through a detailed analysis of survey data.

Quantum Phase Shift in Chern-Simons Modified Gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Using a unified approach of optical-mechanical analogy in a semiclassical formula, we evaluate the effect of Chern-Simons modified gravity on the quantum phase shift of de Broglie waves in neutron interferometry.

KMT: A Trompe-l’œil Victory [PDF]

open access: yesChina Perspectives, 2005
The recent renewal of Pan-Blue’s parliamentary majorityin an almost exact repeat of the 2001 election resultsmasks more changes than it appears both within the two camps and in the respective parties’ appeal to the electorate. Winners of the elections, the opposition parties keep losing voters.
