Empirical Study on the Effects of Walking Time on Knee Joint Pain Based on Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey Data

open access: yesCentral Asian Journal of Medical Sciences, 2019
Objectives: It is generally reported that walking has a positive effect on knee joint pain. However, since previous studies have focused on small patient data and simple average comparisons, we proceed with more sophisticated empirical research using ...

Bioassembly of Region‐Specific Fibrocartilage Microtissues to Engineer Zonally Defined Meniscal Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Meniscal microtissues are fabricated using progenitor cells isolated from the inner (iMPCs) and outer (oMPCs) regions of the meniscus. Meniscal microtissues fuse into cohesive constructs rich in sGAG and collagen. cABC treatment modulates collagen fiber formation and organization in assembled grafts.

Management of Incarcerating Pincer-Type Femoroacetabular Impingement With Hip Arthroscopy

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2014
This report describes the arthroscopic management of a case of incarcerating pincer-type femoroacetabular impingement. The hip joint had a marked restriction of range of motion and secondary pain as a result of osteophytes wrapping around the femoral ...

Conducting Polymer Coatings for Bioelectronic Arthroscopy Probes

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic of a poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene, PEDOT)‐coated arthroscopy probe, featuring a semi‐spherical probe with 38 microelectrodes, used to measure streaming potential generated during cartilage indentation in the knee. The inset includes a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image of the porous PEDOT layer deposited on a nickel‐phosphorus coated

Standardized loads acting in knee implants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The loads acting in knee joints must be known for improving joint replacement, surgical procedures, physiotherapy, biomechanical computer simulations, and to advise patients with osteoarthritis or fractures about what activities to avoid. Such data would
