Impact of Pore Geometry and Water Saturation on Gas Effective Diffusion Coefficient in Soil
Gas flow in soil plays a crucial role in terrestrial ecosystems, and numerical simulation of their movement needs to know their effective diffusion coefficients.

Multiscale Apparent Permeability Model of Shale Nanopores Based on Fractal Theory
Based on fractal geometry theory, the Hagen−Poiseuille law, and the Langmuir adsorption law, this paper established a mathematical model of gas flow in nano-pores of shale, and deduced a new shale apparent permeability model.

Matrix permeability is the primary transport property for shale gas recovery, due to the special production process of gas from matrix to wellbore. With the micro pore size of shale matrix, it is necessary to consider micro transport mechanisms for the ...

A Modern Formulation of Knudsen Diffusion with Applications to Nanofabrication
Knudsen diffusion is a transport process characterized by a diffusivity being derived from molecule-geometry interactions instead of molecule-molecule collisions. It is a well-established theory, having been introduced in the early 20th century. Nonetheless, in its earliest days, the development of the Knudsen diffusion theory was troubled with ...

Water and water transfer are the keys of the concrete durability problem; the non-uniform moisture transfer caused by the concrete micro–meso structure has a great effect on the drying shrinkage crack, transfers of inimical ions, etc. For the non-uniform

A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Exchange‐Coupled Two‐Dimensional MOFs
Graphene mediates ferromagnetic coupling between two‐dimensional metal‐organic frameworks and cobalt. Fe‐tetracyanobenzene develops a remanent magnetic response whose orientation follows the cobalt magnetization direction and persists up to room temperature, whereas Ni‐TCNB remains only field‐polarized.
