A generalized Knudsen theory for gas transport with specular and diffuse reflections

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
AbstractGas permeation through nanopores is a long-standing research interest because of its importance in fundamental science and many technologies. The free molecular flow is conventionally described by Knudsen theory, under the diffuse reflection assumption.

Pattern‐Aware Intelligence Enables Nondestructive, Rapid Quantification of High‐Aspect‐Ratio Silicon Etching

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pattern‐dependent etching is converted into a physical prior for intelligent reconstruction of high‐aspect‐ratio silicon structures. Combining YOLO‐Pose feature extraction with a topography network, the framework retrieves depth, sidewall angle, and scallop texture from minimal destructive observations, enabling accurate cross‐scale metrology and near ...

High‐Entropy Engineering and External Magnetic Field Modulation Synergistically Enhance the H2S Sensing Performance of Rare‐Earth Perovskite Ferrites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel high‐entropy perovskite oxide, (Gd0.2Tb0.2Dy0.2Ho0.2Er0.2)FeO3, was successfully synthesized for advanced hydrogen sulfide gas detection. By synergistically coupling high‐entropy‐induced local lattice distortion with weak magnetic field modulation, the tailored material generates abundant active sites. This innovative dual strategy dramatically

Analysis of Gas Migration Characteristics and Controlling Factors in Nanopores of Deep Coal Seams

open access: yesGeofluids
Nanopores of various scales and morphologies in coal are important spaces for gas storage and migration. To deeply analyse the initial gas migration scale and characteristics in coal matrix micropores, this paper constructs an apparent permeability model

Decoupling Electronic–Ionic Transport and Catalysis Enables High‐Performance, Chemically Stable Sr‐Free Air Electrodes for High‐Temperature Solid Oxide Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A Sr‐free air electrode for high‐temperature solid oxide cells is designed by independently tailoring electronic conduction, ionic transport, and surface catalysis using complementary Sr‐free phases and infiltrated nanocatalysts. It delivers performance comparable to state‐of‐the‐art Sr‐containing electrodes while completely suppressing Cr‐induced ...

Volumetric analysis technique for analyzing the transport properties of hydrogen gas in cylindrical-shaped rubbery polymers

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2021
We report volumetric analysis techniques to analyze the transport properties of hydrogen dissolved in cylindrical-shaped polymers. The techniques utilize the volume measurement of the released hydrogen from rubber by gas collection in a graduated ...

Effects of Knudsen diffusivity on the effective reactivity of nanoporous catalyst media [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Computational Science, 2016
We investigate the non-equilibrium hydrodynamic effects on the reactivity of a nanoporous catalytic sample. Numerical simulations using the Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) show that non-equilibrium effects enhance the reactivity of the porous sample, in agreement with theoretical predictions [1].

Three‐dimensional digital analysis of musteloid masticatory muscle architecture

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Musteloids span an enormous breadth of dietary modes within a single superfamily. In this study, we utilize digital dissection techniques to reconstruct the internal 3D anatomy of muscles within the musteloid feeding apparatus, and explore how dietary specializations might alter the size, orientation, and curvature of fascicles therein.

A new model for calculating the apparent permeability of shale gas in the real state

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2018
In all the existing apparent permeability calculation models used for shale gas, the effect of surface diffusion of adsorbed gas is neglected and shale gas is assumed to be in an ideal state, so the calculation results may not reflect the real situations.
