This Short Communication describes the stranding of a pregnant dwarf sperm whale (Kogia sima) in Palk Bay, India. The dwarf sperm whale is little understood in Indian waters and considered to be one of the most unusual and rare stranded cetaceans in some parts of Tamil Nadu.
