Radiometric Characteristics of KOMPSAT-3 Multispectral Images Using the Spectra of Well-Known Surface Tarps

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2016
A vicarious calibration with reference to characterized surface tarps was conducted to determine the first radiometric characteristics of KOMPSAT-3. The 6S radiative transfer model was also used by inputting various initial parameters, such as the spectral response function of KOMPSAT-3, and atmospheric and geometric conditions.

Vicarious calibration of KOMPSAT-3 AEISS

SPIE Proceedings, 2015
This paper presents a vicarious radiometric calibration of the Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite-3 (KOMPSAT-3) performed by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) and the Pukyong National University Remote Sensing Group (PKNU RSG) in 2012 and 2014. Correlations between top-of-atmosphere (TOA) radiances and the spectral band responses of the KOMPSAT ...

A No-Reference Super Resolution for Satellite Image Quality Enhancement for KOMPSAT-3

IGARSS 2020 - 2020 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2020
Recently, a deep learning based super-resolution (SR) technology has been applied to satellite images to improve spatial resolution and sharpness, and to increase extractable information. In this paper, we propose a no-reference single image super-resolution method that improves the image quality by doubling spatial resolution of Korea Multi-Purpose ...

Radiometric cross-calibration of KOMPSAT-3 with Landsat-8

SPIE Proceedings, 2015
This paper presents a radiometric cross calibration of KOMPSAT-3 AEISS based on Landsat-8 OLI. Cross calibration between the two sensors using simultaneous image pairs, acquired during an underfly event over the Libya 4 pseudo invariant calibration site (PICS) site.

On-orbit MTF estimation for the KOMPSAT-3 satellite using star images

Remote Sensing Letters, 2015
The KOMPSAT-3 (Korean Multi-Purpose Satellite-3) spacecraft was successfully launched on 18 May 2012, with the mission to provide high-resolution imagery for civilian and defence users. Star observation was performed for the purpose of various tests and evaluations such as modulation transfer function (MTF) measurement.
