Data Augmentation for Ship Detection using Kompsat-5 Images and Deep Learning Model

IGARSS 2020 - 2020 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2020
This paper proposes a useful scheme to augment the amount of training database (DB) for ship detection using Korea multi-purpose satellite–5 (KOMPSAT–5) images and deep learning. The proposed scheme utilizes electromagnetic numerical analysis technique to generate SAR chips of ship targets.

KOMPSAT-5 spotlight SAR processor using FSA with calculation of effective velocity

2010 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2010
In KOMPSAT-5 program, Korea Aerospace Research Institute has made SAR imaging chain analysis tool to evaluate imaging system of KOMPSAT-5. The tool consists of a simulator and a processor. The simulator simulates observation of a scene by the operational mode of KOMPSAT-5 and generates SAR raw data. The processor generates an image of the scene.

Design and Implementation for KOMPSAT-5 Orbit Determination Operations

SpaceOps 2012 Conference, 2012
KOrea-Multi-Purpose-SATellite (KOMPSAT)-5 is the first Korean satellite to perform synthetic aperture radar (SAR) mission and support radio occultation. In order to process SAR and radio occultation data, precise position and velocity are required. KOMPSAT-5 orbit determination system consists of Operational orbit determination (OOD) and precise orbit ...

Radio Occultation Mission in Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite KOMPSAT-5

2009
The first occultation mission in the Korean space program, KOMPSAT-5, is scheduled for launch in 2010. KOMPSAT-5 will have a dual frequency GPS receiver to generate precision orbit determination data and occultation data. The KOMPSAT-5 spacecraft and the characteristics of its occultation payload are described in this paper.

Bias Assessment of Nasa Team and ASI Summer SEA ICE Concentrations in the Chukchi SEA using Kompsat-5 SAR

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
Bias assessment of sea ice concentration (SIC) derived from passive microwave sensors is very important because it has been used as an important parameter for climate change research. In this study, we analyzed biases in SICs retrieved from NASA Team (NT) and Arctic Radiation and Turbulence Interaction STudy (ARTIST) Sea Ice (ASI) algorithm implemented
