Transport through side-coupled multilevel double quantum dots in the Kondo regime

open access: yes, 2014
We analyze the transport properties of a double quantum dot device in the side-coupled configuration. A small quantum dot (QD), having a single relevant electronic level, is coupled to source and drain electrodes.

KONDO EFFECT IN MESOSCOPIC SYSTEM

open access: yes, 2007
We discuss numerically exact continuous-time Quantum Monte Carlo algorithms for electronic structure calculations of nanosystems with a general non-local in space-time interaction. The problem of three interacting Kondo impurities on metallic substrate has been investigated.

Kondo Resonances in Molecular Devices

open access: yes, 2010
Molecular electronic devices currently serve as a platform for studying a variety of physical phenomena only accessible at the nanometer scale. One such phenomenon is the highly correlated electronic state responsible for the Kondo effect, manifested ...

Molecular Kondo effect in flat-band lattices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The Kondo effect of a single magnetic impurity embedded in the Lieb lattice is studied by the numerical renormalization group. When the band flatness is present in the local density of states, it quenches the participation of all dispersive electrons in ...

Dissipative realization of Kondo models

open access: yesCommunications Physics
The Kondo effect is a prototypical strongly correlated phenomenon, and it is usually discussed in the context of unitary dynamics. Here, we demonstrate that the Kondo effect can be induced through non-linear dissipative channels, without requiring any ...

Tunable Fano-Kondo resonance in side-coupled double quantum dot system

open access: yes, 2010
We study the interference between the Fano and Kondo effects in a side-coupled double-quantum- dot system where one of the quantum dots couples to conduction electron bath while the other dot only side-couples to the first dot via antiferromagnetic (AF ...

Kondo lattice without Nozières exhaustion effect [PDF]

open access: yesEurophysics Letters (EPL), 2006
We discuss the properties of layered Anderson/Kondo lattices with metallic electrons confined in 2D xy planes and local spins in insulating layers forming chains in z direction. Each spin in this model possesses its own 2D Kondo cloud, so that the Nozieres' exhaustion problem does not occur.

Kondo effect in coupled quantum dots under magnetic fields

open access: yes, 2001
The Kondo effect in coupled quantum dots is investigated theoretically under magnetic fields. We show that the magnetoconductance (MC) illustrates peak structures of the Kondo resonant spectra.

Kondo Effect in Magnetic Tunnel Junctions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2007
Tunneling magnetoresistance was found to be suppressed with decreasing temperature for magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) oxidized under high plasma power. A strong temperature dependence of the junction resistance was observed, along with zero-bias anomalies of dynamic resistance at low temperatures.
