Weak edge effects on trees in Bornean rainforest remnants bordering oil palm
Biotropica, Volume 54, Issue 4, Page 921-932, July 2022., 2022 Edge effects have consequences for rainforest tree communities, particularly in highly fragmented agricultural landscapes. We studied edge effects in forests bordering oil palm plantations in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo, and found that loss of large trees caused a significant reduction in aboveground carbon near edges.
