The dual model for an Ising model with nearest and next-nearest neighbors

open access: yes, 2013
We construct and analyse a dual model to the Ising model with the nearest and next-nearest neighbors on the rectangular lattice (NNNI model). The Hamiltonian of the dual model turns out to contain two- and four-spin interactions.

Cyanobacteria as multifunctional bioinputs for sustainable intensification, soil health enhancement, and climate resilience in rice‐based cropping systems

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Ensuring food security goals through the provision of sustainable energy and food without compromising environmental sustainability is the current requirement amid threats from climate change, uncontrolled global population, and scarcity of natural resources.

Dynamic Ly alpha jets

open access: yes, 2009
The solar chromosphere and transition region are highly structured and complex regimes. A recent breakthrough has been the identification of dynamic fibrils observed in H alpha as caused by field-aligned magnetoacoustic shocks.

Analysis of Economic Environment Incidence in Genetic Programming‐Evolved Multiperiod Bankruptcy Prediction Models

open access: yesIntelligent Systems in Accounting, Finance and Management, Volume 33, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Genetic programming (GP) is used to obtain multiperiod bankruptcy prediction models, as well as to perform a prior feature selection process for these models. Given the controversy in the field of bankruptcy prediction about the need to include (or not) variables from the economic environment as input information for the prediction models, an ...

Untangling the Mechanisms in Magneto‐Electrocatalytic Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 12, 25 February 2026.
Magnetic fields can enhance the oxygen evolution reaction in electrocatalytic water‐splitting for green‐H2. Yet, commercialization cannot be realized until the underlying magneto‐electric mechanisms are understood. This work uses reactor orientation to untangle these mechanisms. Lorentz force is shown to control metallic plates, while spin‐polarization

Link between the diversity, heterogeneity and kinetic properties of amorphous ice structures

open access: yes, 2006
Based on neutron wide-angle diffraction and small-angle neutron scattering experiments, we show that there is a correlation between the preparational conditions of amorphous ice structures, their microscopic structural properties, the extent of ...

Evolutionary Synthesis of HVAC System Configurations: Algorithm Development. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper describes the development of an optimization procedure for the synthesis of novel heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system configurations. Novel HVAC system designs can be synthesized using model-based optimization methods. The

Soil Gas Investigations in Hatay‐Reyhanlı (Türkiye): Implications for Buried Fault Detection and Seismic Hazard Assessment

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract This study presents a soil gas geochemical survey in the Kırcaoğlu and Reyhanlı regions of Hatay Province, southeastern Türkiye, following the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake doublet. The aim was to identify concealed faults and assess seismic hazard through analysis of soil CO2 flux, CO2 and 222Rn concentrations, and carbon and helium isotopic ...
