Highly efficient flame-retardant kraft paper
Journal of Materials Science, 2018The flame resistance of kraft paper was greatly modified by an eco-friendly, phosphorus-containing and reactive flame retardant, ammonium phosphite, which was grafted on kraft paper via pad-bake method. The results showed that the limiting oxygen index of treated kraft paper could increase from 19.1 to 48.2%.

Thermal Faults Involving Thermally Upgraded Kraft Paper
2018 IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Conference and Exhibition - Latin America (T&D-LA), 2018In this study thermally upgraded kraft paper was degraded in insulating oil in accelerated conditions, at different temperatures. In our aging method the paper was heated from 100 to 400 °C but the mineral insulating oil temperature was maintained below to 60 °C, to avoid oil aging.

Biological Bleaching of Kraft Paper Pulp
1992The manufacture of pulp and paper from wood is an important industry; worldwide annual production is about 125 million metric tons. Paper products are used for printing and writing, packaging, and a wide variety of special purposes (Nordman, 1989).

Lignin-based resins for kraft paper applications
TAPPI Journal, 2019We investigated miscanthus (MS) and willow (W) lignin-furfural based resins as potential reinforcement agents on softwood and hardwood kraft paper. These resins might be sustainable alternatives to the commercial phenol-formaldehyde (PF) resins.

Bioproducts Process Pathways for Kraft Paper Mills
Journal of ASTM International, 2010Energy use in the United States is heavily reliant on imported fossil fuels. Finding a way to produce renewable fuels that can replace these fossil fuels will address national security threats, sustainability concerns inherent in the use of fossil fuels, and keep manufacturing in rural areas.

Key material properties in crease cracking of kraft paper
TAPPI Journal, 2021Crease cracking of paperboard is important to control for the appearance and structural integrity of packages. Crease cracking is affected by creasing operation variables, as well as the physical properties of the paperboard. However, the effects of the physical properties are not clearly known.

Aging of kraft paper by acid catalyzed hydrolysis
IEEE International Conference on Dielectric Liquids, 2005. ICDL 2005., 2005Hydrolysis of transformer insulating Kraft paper is experimentally investigated. Paper moisture content was varied and five different acids representative of what may be found in an aging transformer - were added to the oil. The low molecular weight acids were to a large degree absorbed by the paper, contrary to the high molecular acids that remained ...

Production of kraft pulp and paper from linseed stalks
Biological Wastes, 1988Abstract The possibilities of utilising linseed stalk, an agrowaste material, for the production of pulp and paper have been explored. Trials to prepare kraft pulp using various concentrations of kraft liquor are discussed. Paper from 20% kraft pulp exhibited superior properties, suitable for wrapping, writing and printing papers.

Volatile Organic Compounds in Kraft Paper Mill Effluents
1979The effluents of a Kraft pulp mill were analyzed for volatile organic components by GC-MS. Continuous liquid liquid extraction was found to be the most effective method of extraction. Ninety-six compounds were identified in the effluents. Of these, seventy-eight had not been identified previously in Kraft pulp mill effluents.
