Cinética da remoção dos extrativos da madeira de Eucalyptus grandis durante polpação Kraft = Kinetics of the removal of Eucalyptus grandis wood extractives during Kraft pulping

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Technology, 2010

Quiver Subtractions

open access: yes, 2018
We study the vacuum structure of gauge theories with eight supercharges. It has been recently discovered that in the Higgs branch of $5d$ and $6d$ SQCD theories with eight supercharges, the new massless states, arising when the gauge coupling is taken to

Thermal Stabilization of Chitosan Yarn for Carbon Fiber Production

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This study explores chitosan, a biopolymer derived from chitin, as a renewable precursor for carbon fiber production. The authors demonstrate that chitosan fibers can be successfully stabilized under controlled thermal conditions in air and nitrogen.

Enhancing dissolving pulp quality of mixed raw materials through pre-hydrolysis kraft-cooking: A study on Acacia crassicarpa and Terminalia catappa

open access: yesCommunications in Science and Technology
Acacia crassicarpa wood is widely used in Indonesia as a raw material for dissolving pulp (DP) by the kraft-cooking process. Given that Indonesia has a rich variety and abundance of cellulose-rich wood, it is deemed crucial to research alternative raw ...

High-Level Expression of Various Apolipoprotein (a) Isoforms by "Transferrinfection". The Role of Kringle IV Sequences in the Extracellular Association with Low-Density Lipoprotein [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Characterization of the assembly of lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] is of fundamental importance to understanding the biosynthesis and metabolism of this atherogenic lipoprotein. Since no established cell lines exist that express Lp(a) or apolipoprotein(a) [apo(a)

From Hemp Bast to Lyocell Fiber: Sustainable Process Optimization for Lyocell‐Grade Dissolving Pulp

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a sustainable method to produce lyocell‐grade dissolving pulp from Canadian hemp bast fibers. A simplified alkali‐chelation‐bleaching process, free from sulfur and chlorine, yielded high α‐cellulose pulp with low lignin and hemicellulose content. The pulp was successfully spun into continuous hemp‐based lyocell fibers, demonstrating

Application of Alkaline Ionic Liquids in the Pretreatment Process of Eucalyptus Kraft Pulping

open access: yesBioResources, 2016
In order to explore the potential application of green solvent ionic liquids (ILs) in the kraft pulping process, eucalyptus wood was pretreated by [Mmim]DMP before normal pulping.

When do jumps matter for portfolio optimization? : [Version 29 April 2013] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We consider the continuous-time portfolio optimization problem of an investor with constant relative risk aversion who maximizes expected utility of terminal wealth. The risky asset follows a jump-diffusion model with a diffusion state variable.

Valorization of paper sludge for bioethanol and biogas production

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract This study evaluated the physicochemical properties and bioenergy potential of three distinct paper sludges: virgin pulp sludge (VP‐PS), corrugated cardboard sludge (CR‐PS), and tissue and printing paper sludge (TPR‐PS). From the experimental runs, VP‐PS exhibited the highest ethanol yield (46.8 ± 3.7 g L−1, 87.4% conversion), which can be ...
