A MESHLESS ANALYSIS OF SHELLS BASED ON MOVING KRIGING INTERPOLATION

An Element Free Galerkin Method (EFGM) for the analysis of degenerated shell structures is presented. The method is based on the Moving Kriging (MK) Interpolation function. The properties of the interpolation function possess the Kronecker delta property.

In this paper the theoretical link between splines and kriging is presented. Spline interpolation is equivalent to kriging with fixed covariance and degree of polynomial trend. Kriging uses the results of the structural analysis for the interpolation. No preliminary structured analysis is performed by spline interpolation.
