Instantaneous frequencies in the Kuramoto model [PDF]
Using the main results of the Kuramoto theory of globally coupled phase oscillators combined with methods from probability and generalized function theory in a geometric analysis, we extend Kuramoto's results and obtain a mathematical description of the instantaneous frequency (phase-velocity) distribution.

Landau Damping in the Kuramoto Model [PDF]
We consider the Kuramoto model of globally coupled phase oscillators in its continuum limit, with individual frequencies drawn from a distribution with density of class $C^n$ ($n\geq 4$). A criterion for linear stability of the uniform stationary state is established which, for basic examples of frequency distributions, is equivalent to the standard ...

Bifurcations in the Kuramoto model on graphs [PDF]
In his classical work, Kuramoto analytically described the onset of synchronization in all-to-all coupled networks of phase oscillators with random intrinsic frequencies. Specifically, he identified a critical value of the coupling strength, at which the incoherent state loses stability and a gradual build-up of coherence begins.

Generalized coupling in the Kuramoto model [PDF]
We propose a modification of the Kuramoto model to account for the effective change in the coupling constant among the oscillators, as suggested by some experiments on Josephson junction, laser arrays and mechanical systems, where the active elements are turned on one by one.

Bifurcations and Patterns in the Kuramoto Model with Inertia
In this work, we analyze the Kuramoto model (KM) with inertia on a convergent family of graphs. It is assumed that the intrinsic frequencies of the individual oscillators are sampled from a probability distribution. In addition, a given graph, which may also be random, assigns network connectivity.

Finite-size scaling in the Kuramoto model [PDF]
We investigate the scaling properties of the order parameter and the largest nonvanishing Lyapunov exponent for the fully locked state in the Kuramoto model with a finite number $N$ of oscillators. We show that, for any finite value of $N$, both quantities scale as $(K-K_L)^{1/2}$ with the coupling strength $K$ sufficiently close to the locking ...

Kuramoto model with time-varying parameters [PDF]
We introduce a generalization of the Kuramoto model by explicit consideration of time-dependent parameters. The oscillators' natural frequencies and/or couplings are supposed to be influenced by external, time-dependant fields, with constant or randomly-distributed strengths.
