Macrophage TRIM21 Inhibition Ameliorates Murine Acute Pancreatitis via PHB2‐Mediated Mitochondrial Stabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Macrophage‐derived TRIM21 drives the progression of AP via ubiquitin‐proteasome‐mediated degradation of PHB2, leading to impaired PHB2‐mediated mitophagy. Therefore, accumulation of cytosolic mtDNA hyperactivates the cGAS‐STING signaling axis, thereby amplifying inflammatory cascades.

Flexible Global Carbon Pricing: A Backward-Compatible Upgrade for the Kyoto Protocol [PDF]

open access: yes
The Kyoto Protocol’s approach of assigning emission targets, or “caps,” promises certainty that it cannot deliver, because it exacerbates problems with international cooperation and commitment.

A BioLiving Periosteum Evokes Centripetal Regeneration in Challenging Bone Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Large bone defects often suffer from insufficient central healing. This study engineers a BioLiving periosteum that mimics the native structure. It sequentially delivers remote chemical cues and contact physical cues in a signaling‐relay manner, effectively recruiting and guiding endogenous cells toward the defect center.

Context‐Dependent Role of GDF15: GDF15+ Tumor‐Associated Macrophages Suppress OSCC Progression by Enhancing Phagocytosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies GDF15+ TAMs as a cell subset mediating tumor regression after immunotherapy. Macrophage‐intrinsic GDF15 enhances phagocytosis and antigen cross‐presentation to CD8+ T cells through the NF‐κB signaling pathway, thereby inhibiting tumor progression.

Greenhouse gas emissions and the role of the Kyoto Protocol [PDF]

open access: yes
Our study empirically investigates the effects of the Kyoto Protocol’s quantified emission limitation or reduction commitments on various greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions such as CO2, CH4, N2O and other greenhouse gases, consisting of HFCs, PFCs and SF6 ...

Adipocyte‐Derived Exosomal miR‐5099 Mitigates M1 Macrophage Polarization and Adipose Inflammation via c‐Met/NF‐κB Axis to Improve Metabolic Health

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Celastrol upregulates adipocyte‐derived exosomal miR‐5099, suppressing the macrophage c‐Met/NF‐κB axis to mitigate pro‐inflammatory M1 polarization and adipose inflammation. These miR‐5099‐enriched exosomes also act as endocrine signals targeting the liver, muscle, and adipocytes to significantly enhance systemic insulin sensitivity.
