Ultrafast magnetic field induced by anisotropy in carbon nanotubes irradiated by intense laser fields [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
We report an unexpected result of the anisotropy of the nonlinear optical response of carbon nanotubes, inherent to their chirality. Using a model based on the resolution of the semiconductor Bloch equations, we theoretically demonstrate that, upon ...

Development of a High-Precision, Portable and Automated Mobile Laser Scanner for the Recording and Digitation of Texture and Micro-marks in Archaeological and Heritage Stone [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
The use of laser tools to digitise cultural heritage items is becoming more widespread but is generally limited to manual systems that rely on the user’s movement or expensive automated equipment that is designed to scan large items but is not always ...

PELÍCULAS DE ZnMnO CRECIDAS POR PLD: EFECTO DE LA CONCENTRACIÓN DE Mn

open access: yesMomento, 2015

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

675-nm diode laser as an adjuvant treatment for telogen effluvium: case series

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
BackgroundTelogen effluvium (TE) is a diffuse, non-scarring alopecia that can have a significant impact on quality of life. Although often self-limited, many patients seek therapies that speed recovery.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
