Apatite in Carbonatite Preserving Primary Magmatic, Post‐Magmatic Overgrowth, and Post India‐Asia Collision‐Related Hydrothermal Alteration: Evidenced From U–Pb Isotope and Trace Element Geochemistry

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
U–Pb isotope and trace element geochemistry of apatite from carbonatites of Peshawar Plain Alkaline Igneous Province, western Himalaya shows Permo‐Carboniferous magmatism, an additional magmatic pulse during Cretaceous, and post‐magmatic hydrothermal/metasomatism during Oligocene. ABSTRACT U–Pb isotope and trace element geochemistry of apatite combined

Miocene to Quaternary Tectonostratigraphic Evolution of the Northern Section of the Burdur‐Fethiye Shear Zone, South‐Western Türkiye

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
New zircon ages reveal that lacustrine sedimentation initiated in the Late Miocene (Messinian), revising earlier Pliocene age assignments. The study results support the interpretation of the northern BFSZ as a broad left‐lateral transtensional shear zone rather than a discrete sinistral fault or simple extensional graben array.

Willingness-to-pay in terms of price: an application to organic beef during and after the “mad cow” crisis [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper aims at assessing consumers’ attitudes and willingness to pay for organic beef, an obvious alternative to regular beef in terms of safety, both immediately and at a longer term after the BSE crisis.

Assessment of the Exposure of Australia to Tropical Cyclones Through a Climatological Model for Cyclone Weather Extent

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Australia has different levels of exposure to tropical cyclones. Using historical records, this study investigates the spatial variability of tropical cyclone formation across the Southeast Indian–South Pacific basin, quantifies the exposure of different parts of Australia to tropical cyclone weather events, and examines decadal variability in cyclone ...

食の安全性と農業政策の転換 ―BSE 対策再考― [PDF]

open access: yes

Corrosion Behavior of Commercial FeCrAl and TiAl Alloys in Molten Pb With 2E‐7 wt% Oxygen at 600°C and 700°C

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
Excellent corrosion resistance of commercial Al‐containing materials is shown for exposures to liquid lead (Pb) at 600°C. However, oxide scale failure occurs at 700°C. The formed oxide scales and their failure mechanisms are explored. ABSTRACT Liquid lead (Pb) is an attractive heat transfer fluid for advanced thermal energy storage (TES) systems.

New Insights About the Role of Sn‐Rich and Pb‐Rich Phases Over the Corrosion Mechanism of Low‐Tin Quaternary Bronze Alloys Under Sulfur‐Containing Conditions

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
A mechanistic proposal for the initial steps of quaternary bronze corrosion in media containing sulfate was described. The process is driven by microgalvanic effects along the microstructure, generating anodic sites over lead and tin rich phases and cathodic sites onto Cu‐rich phases.

Hot Corrosion Type X: Behavior of Mo‐Si‐B at Different Temperatures

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
The temperature‐dependent mechanism for Mo‐Si‐B is investigated by studying the hot corrosion resistance of Mo‐Si‐B at 500°C–900°C. Post‐testing analysis via XRD, SEM, Raman and EPMA is used to reveal the degradation mechanisms. Na2MoO4, which forms under Na2SO4 deposits, is responsible for dissolving the surrounding material due to its lower melting ...
