Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Low flow frequency analysis by L-moments method (Case study: Iranian Central Plateau River Basin) [PDF]
Knowledge about low flow statistics is essential for effective water resource planning and management in ungauged orpoorly gauged catchment areas, especially in arid and semi-arid regions such as Iran.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

On an extension of the L-moment approach to modelling distributions which include trend [PDF]
In this paper, extensions of existing L-moment procedures are considered, aiming for ways of assessing changes over time in the distributions of quantities such as annual maxima while avoiding subdivision of data records into possibly overlapping sub ...

Muon anomalous magnetic moment in SUSY B−L model with inverse seesaw
Motivated by the tension between the Higgs mass and muon g−2 in minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), we analyze the muon g−2 in supersymmetric B−L extension of the standard model (BLSSM) with inverse seesaw mechanism.

Minimal gauged U 1 L μ − L τ $$ \mathrm{U}{(1)}_{L_{\mu }-{L}_{\tau }} $$ models can provide for an additional source for the muon anomalous magnetic moment however it is difficult to accommodate the discrepancy in the electron magnetic moment in tandem.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

TL-moments of the exponentiated generalized extreme value distribution
TL-moments and LQ-moments of the exponentiated generalized extreme value distribution (EGEV) will be obtained and used to estimate the unknown parameters of the EGEV distribution.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
