Development and validation of a new predictive model for in-hospital postoperative major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events after general anesthesia in nonagenarians undergoing non-cardiac surgery

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundMajor adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE) following noncardiac surgery are the main cause of perioperative mortality. However, there are few evidence-based prediction models available for predicting the risk of MACCE. We aimed to

A Residue Number System Based Parallel Communication Scheme using Orthogonal Signaling: Part I-System Outline

open access: yes, 2002
A novel signaling scheme is presented, where a set of orthogonal signals is transmitted in parallel. The signals are selected according to the so-called residue number system (RNS).

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Development and validation of a perioperative pediatric cardiac risk calculator

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Surgery Open
Background: Numerous tools for cardiac risk stratification exist for the adult population. While each has its strengths, there remains a need for a calculator that reliably predicts the cardiac risk across all types of pediatric surgery.

Scan Statistic and Multiple Scan Statistics

open access: yes, 2010
The scan statistic and multiple scan statistic can be used in many areas of science. In this chapter, a survey of results on scan statistic for the continuous conditional case is presented.

Density Estimation of Spatio-temporal Point Patterns Using Moran's Statistic

open access: yes, 2018
Moran's Index is a statistic that measures spatial autocorrelation, quantifying the degree of dispersion (or spread) of objects in space. When investigating data in an area, a single Moran statistic may not give a sufficient summary of the ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Model of Prediction for End Temperature of Molten Steel in CAS Refining

open access: yesTeshugang, 2005
Based on multicomponent regression analysis, the model of prediction for end temperature of molten steel TLin CAS-composition adjustment by sealed argon bubbling refining has been established: TL= t  -(-920.64  +  0.0643625X1+0. 187162X2+  0.581293t  +0.
