The Role of Invasive Procedures in the Treatment of Complicated Gastrointestinal Graft‐Versus‐Host Disease in Pediatric Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Gastrointestinal graft‐versus‐host disease (GI GVHD) following hematopoietic stem cell transplant is typically managed with medical therapy, but surgery and angioembolization may be warranted in selected cases with life‐threatening complications.

Two Faces of NOTCH1 in Childhood Lymphoblastic T‐Cell Neoplasia: Prognostic Divergence of Mutational and Structural Aberrations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In pediatric patients, T‐cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T‐LBL) survival exceeds 80%. Relapse remains associated with limited curative options. Frontline treatment is largely extrapolated from T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) treatment, reflecting the ongoing debate, whether both entities represent distinct diseases or variants within ...

Analysis of patient health questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) based depression prevalence according to a discordance between quantitative urinary cotinine levels and self-report of second-hand smoke exposure among adults: A cross-sectional study

open access: yesHeliyon
Background: Second-hand smoke (SHS) exposure appears to be more common among individuals with depression. However, self-report of SHS exposure is an inaccurate classification compared to confirming SHS exposure using urinary cotinine (UC).

Relationship between the postoperative lactate dynamic levels, the acute gastrointestinal injury and the prognosis among patients who undergo surgical treatment for acute type A aortic dissection

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Introduction: This study aimed to determine the relationship between the postoperative lactate dynamic levels, the postoperative acute gastrointestinal injury (AGI), and the prognosis among the patients who underwent surgical treatment for an acute ...

Closed convex $l$-subgroups and radical classes of convergence $l$-groups [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Bohemica, 1997
A convergence \(\ell \)-group (for short: a cl-group) is any pair \((G,\alpha)\) where \(G\) is an abelian \(\ell \)-group and \(\alpha \) is a convergence in \(G\). In the paper under review, the author introduces the notion of a closed convex \(\ell \)-subgroup (a cl-subgroup) of a cl-group and shows that the set \(c(G,\alpha)\) of all cl-subgroups ...

Ethnic Differences in the Association Between SOD2 rs4880 and Hepatotoxicity in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Report From the REDIAL Consortium

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Treatment‐associated hepatotoxicity (TAH) is a common complication of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) treatment, but genetic risk factors remain poorly understood. We evaluated the SOD2 rs4880 variant in 544 children with ALL at Texas Children's Hospital. After adjusting for demographic and clinical covariates, the rs4880 C allele

Full convexl-subgroups and the existence ofa-closures of lattice ordered groups [PDF]

open access: yesPacific Journal of Mathematics, 1975
An affirmative answer to the question of whether an arbitrary lattice-ordered group has an α*-closure is the main result of this paper. This result is obtained by first introducing the notion of a full convex Z-subgroup which is closely analogous to the notion of a closed convex Z-subgroup.

A Supersymmetric SO(10) Model with Inflation and Cosmic Strings

open access: yes, 1995
We have built a supersymmetric SO(10) model consistent with cosmological observations. The model gives rise to a false vacuum hybrid inflationary scenario which solves the monopole problem.
