L-Cysteinium⋯L-Cysteine Phosphite

Journal of Structural Chemistry
In the system l-cysteine-H3PO3-H2O, a new salt with a dimeric cation, (l-CysH···l-Cys)(H2PO3), has been obtained. The compound exhibits incongruent solubility and is synthesized using an equimolar ratio of l-cysteine and phosphorous acid. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P212121.

Sequential polypeptides. Synthesis of poly-(L-tyrosyl-L-glutamyl-L-tyrosyl-L-glutamyl), poly-(L-glutamyl-L-tyrosyl-L-glutamyl), and poly-(L-glutamyl-L-glutamyl-L-tyrosyl-L-glutamyl) by use of catechol esters

Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 1, 1973
The racemization-free method of peptide coupling involving use of 2-hydroxyphenyl esters has been successfully applied to the synthesis of sequential polypeptides containing L-tyrosine and L-glutamic acid. The reactive hydroxy-group of these esters was protected by formation of a phenacyl ether; this led to easily crystallizable derivatives, and the ...
