스핀-궤도 토크(SOT) 유도 자화 반전은 빠른 스위칭 시간과 전력 소비가 효율적이며 내구성이 높다는 장점으로 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 보자력이 크고 수직자기 이방성이 큰 물질은 장기간에 걸쳐 안정적인 자화 상태를 유지하고 소형화에 용이하기 때문에 자기 데이터 저장 매체로 응용이 되어왔다. L10-FePt물질은 높은 수직자기 이방성(6.6~10*107 erg/cm3)에 기인한 열적 안정성을 갖기 때문에 자기기록소자에 적합한 물질이다.
