Uniform Forward-modeling Analysis of Ultracool Dwarfs. III. Late-M and L Dwarfs in Young Moving Groups, the Pleiades, and the Hyades

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a uniform forward-modeling analysis of 90 late-M and L dwarfs in nearby young (∼10–200 Myr) moving groups, the Pleiades, and the Hyades using low-resolution ( R ≈ 150) near-infrared (0.9–2.4 μ m) spectra and the BT-Settl model atmospheres.

Functional diversity of farmland bees across rural–urban landscapes in a tropical megacity

open access: yesEcological Applications, Volume 32, Issue 8, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Urbanization poses a major threat to biodiversity and food security, as expanding cities, especially in the Global South, increasingly compete with natural and agricultural lands. However, the impact of urban expansion on agricultural biodiversity in tropical regions is overlooked.

Medium-resolution 0.97–5.3 μm Spectra of Very Young Benchmark Brown Dwarfs with NIRSpec on Board the James Webb Space Telescope

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Spectra of young benchmark brown dwarfs with well-known ages are vital to characterize other brown dwarfs, for which ages are in general not known. These spectra are also crucial to test atmospheric models, which have the potential to provide detailed ...

Histochemical indications for a chemically complex signal produced by the cervical gill slit gland of the pygmy sperm whale (Kogia breviceps)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The pygmy sperm whale (Kogia breviceps) possesses an exocrine gland associated with its false gill slit pigmentation pattern. The cervical gill slit gland is a compound tubuloalveolar gland that produces a holocrine secretion and displays maturational changes in size and secretory histology. While the morphology of the cervical gill slit gland

Reciprocal relationships between personality disorders and eating disorders in a prospective 17‐year follow‐up study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, Volume 55, Issue 12, Page 1753-1764, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objective This study aimed to report the presence of categorical and dimensional personality disorders (PD) in adults with longstanding eating disorders (ED) over a period of 17 years and to investigate whether changes in PD predict changes in ED symptoms or vice versa.
