An Aquatic Organism Image Retrieval Hash Algorithm Based on DCT
In order to overcome the disadvantages of traditional image retrieval algorithms such as inefficiency and time-consuming, an image retrieval algorithm based on DCT Hash is proposed.

This study investigates the role of ER stress in steroid resistance in severe asthma. Results from advanced 3D models of human bronchial epithelial cells, steroid‐resistant severe asthma mouse models, and human severe asthma sputum samples show that treatment with ICS in combination with the ER stress inhibitor 4‐PBA significantly enhances steroid ...

ABSTRACT Background Testicular germ cell tumours (TGCTs) are the most common type of tumour diagnosed in young men, and reliable non‐invasive biomarkers are crucial for clinical management. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) from the miR‐371–373 cluster have recently been identified as novel and more sensitive serum biomarkers than the conventional protein‐based ...

Discriminant DCT Feature Extraction
This chapter provides a feature extraction approach that combines the discrete cosine transform (DCT) with LDA. The DCT-based frequency-domain analysis technique is introduced first.

Palynological records are central to the biostratigraphic subdivision of the Late Pleistocene in central Europe. Yet many interglacial and interstadial phases—such as the Eemian, Brörup and Odderade—remain only poorly constrained in time due to limited numerical dating.

Polynomial transform based DCT implementation
. Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) is an important transform of particular interest in still image compression and compression of individual video frames, while multidimensional DCT is mostly used for compression of video streams and volume spaces.

Background and Purpose The pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM)‐induced cardiomyopathy involves cardiac fibrosis that leads to diastolic dysfunction. We established that replacement of lost substance P (SP) that occurs in T2DM reduces cardiac fibrosis and decreases inflammation in T2DM mice and non‐human primates.

Background and Purpose Adenosine as a signalling molecule modifies blood–brain barrier (BBB) tightness in pathological conditions. Our aim was to investigate the direct and polarized effects of adenosine on the BBB using co‐culture and in vivo models. Experimental Approach The expression of adenosine receptors was measured by qRT‐PCR.

The CLMBM nanoparticle (NP) system demonstrates strong and targeted anti‐ROS, antiapoptotic and anti‐inflammatory properties within the pancreas, thereby inhibiting the onset and progression of type 1 diabetes. Background and Purpose The destruction of β‐cells in type 1 diabetes is driven by signalling cascades that ultimately lead to cell apoptosis ...

DCT-Based Decorrelated Attention for Vision Transformers
Central to the Transformer architectures' effectiveness is the self-attention mechanism, a function that maps queries, keys, and values into a high-dimensional vector space.
