Spatial and temporal variation in survival of female wild turkeys
We monitored 370 female wild turkeys across North Carolina's 3 ecoregions from 2020‐2022 to understand factors influencing their survival. Female survival varied by ecoregion and behavior state, with the incubation period having the lowest survival rates. None of the land cover variables affected survival.

Exploring antimicrobial use on traditional free-range Label Rouge broiler farming
Antimicrobial resistance is now well recognized as a global and major public issue, and as such has been tackled through antibiotic stewardship. Decreasing antimicrobial use is a great challenge for livestock farming, especially for intensive production systems, which were among the more exposed in 2013.

We used a population viability analysis to evaluate the influence of headstarting on recovery of the Rouge National Urban Park Blanding's turtle population. Completing the remaining 12 years of the 20‐year headstarting program is projected to approximately double population size relative to no further supplementation.

Abstract Soybean lipoxygenase (GmLOX1), a plant 13‐LOX, has long been considered a model protein for non‐trivial, quantum hydrogen tunneling in enzyme catalysis. Hydrogen tunneling mechanisms have also been confirmed for LOXs across mammalian, fungal, and bacterial kingdoms.
