Cobalt‐Catalyzed C─N Bond Formation via Metal‐Hydride Hydrogen Atom Transfer (MHAT)
Cobalt‐catalyzed metal‐hydride hydrogen atom transfer (Co‐MHAT) converts simple alkenes into C─N bonds under mild, near‐neutral conditions. A shared Co─H‐initiated radical/organocobalt intermediate is channeled into radical trapping, radical‐polar crossover, or radical ligand transfer, unifying hydroamination, hydroazidation, hydroamidation, and remote

Efficient Burial of Labile Organic Carbon in Sediments of Oxygenated Icelandic Fjords
Abstract Fjords are hotspots of organic carbon (OC) burial, making them key components in the global carbon cycle. Recent research shows high marine OC burial even under oxic fjord water columns, broadening the scope of key drivers of OC burial therein.

Integrated assessment of croplands soil carbon sensitivity to recent and future climate in the Elbe river catchment (central Europe) [PDF]
Carbon storage in soils is sensitive to changing climatic conditions, potentially increasing C fluxes from soils to the atmosphere. This study provides an assessment of recent climate variability (1951–2000) and potential future (2001–2055) climate ...

Degradation Pathways of Silicon‐Based Anodes in Lithium‐Ion Batteries
Silicon‐based anodes undergo degradation through five primary pathways: (1) mechanical and structural deterioration of the active material, (2) loss of electrode integrity and electrical contact, (3) mechanical instability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), characterized by repetitive fracture and deformation, (4) chemical instability of the ...

Isothiazologuanosine (tzG) as Environmentally Sensitive Fluorescent Reporter in RNA
The emissive isothiazologuanosine analog tzG is synthesized for the first time as RNA phosphoramidite building block for solid‐phase synthesis. Due to its isomorphic and isofunctional characteristics, tzG forms Watson–Crick base pairs and can be used as fluorescent probe to monitor (deoxy)ribozyme activity.
