Coordinating Mesopore Geometry and Interfacial Water Dynamics for Iron‐Site Evolution in Nitrate Electroreduction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Mesopore geometry programs the working‐state interface of Fe single sites during nitrate electroreduction. Hexagonal channels reorganize interfacial water and accompany the reversible evolution of isolated Fe─O4‐like sites toward Fe─O─Fe‐like motifs, promoting successive hydrogenation toward NH3 with a Faradaic efficiency of 99.1%.

Coarse‐Grained Simulations Rationalize Thermosensitivity and Hydrolytic Degradation of Vinyl Copolymers Obtained by Radical Ring‐Opening Polymerization

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (CG) molecular dynamics simulations were used to predict the upper critical solution temperature of copolymers obtained by radical ring‐opening copolymerization of cyclic ketene acetals and vinyl monomers, and to account for their unique degradation kinetics under physiological conditions by evaluating the solvation of their ester groups.

Acid-Labile Bound Carbon Disulfide in Whole Blood of Rats as a Biological Indicator for Carbon Disulfide Exposure

open access: yes, 1998
Carbon disulfide is distributed in the body by the bloodstream and is presented as acid-labile and free carbon disulfide in blood. Acid-labile carbon disulfide is a form of bound carbon disulfide recoverable by acid treatment. The objective of this study

Microenvironmental Tuning in Isostructural Conjugated Metal–Organic Frameworks for Superior Photocatalytic H2O2 Generation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Two isostructural conjugated‐MOFs (Fe‐Tp and Mn‐Tp) photocatalysts were engineered with nonequivalent microenvironmental redox tuning for hydrogen peroxide production. The manganese analog engages both the oxygen reduction reaction and the water oxidation reaction while suppressing decomposition, delivering 10 487 µmol g−1 h−1 with an apparent quantum ...

Guide to Communicating Carbon Pricing

open access: yes, 2018
Stakeholder and public support are critical for an enduring and robust carbon pricing policy. How jurisdictions communicate their carbon pricing policy plays a key role in creating and maintaining that support.

On‐Demand Deconstructable Thermosets Through Cleavable Comonomer and Thermolatent Base Synergy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Thermosets, valued for their chemical and mechanical properties, resist recycling due to their cross‐linked structure. Weak bonds via comonomers enable degradability, but diffusion limits effectiveness. We incorporate thermolatent bases before polymerization (thermal or 3D‐VAT printing).

Bottlebrush Polyolefin Sulfones as Triggerable and Degradable Pressure‐Sensitive Adhesives

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A grafting‐through alternating copolymerization strategy yields poly(norbornene sulfone) bottlebrush polymers with high molar mass. These materials function as additive‐free pressure‐sensitive adhesives. The incorporation of cleavable sulfone units enables rapid breakdown under mild alkaline conditions, providing a pathway toward sustainable, high ...

Ionic Liquid Electrolytes for Extreme Temperature Conditions: Challenges and Perspective

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Ionic liquids (ILs) have gained great attention as safe electrolyte components in recent years. This review elucidates the temperature effects on IL‐based electrolytes from molecular configurations, physicochemical properties, and interfacial chemistry, raises the challenges and design strategies operating at low‐ and HT, providing valuable guidance ...
