The LUNA experiment at Gran Sasso Laboratory
Accurate knowledge of thermonuclear reaction rates is a key issue in nuclear astrophysics since it is important for understanding the energy generation, neutrino production and the synthesis of the elements in stars. Cross-section measurements are mainly

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Elicitor-Induced Defense Responses in Solanum lycopersicum against Ralstonia solanacearum
We investigated on important parameters of induced resistance in hydroponic tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) against Ralstonia solanacearum using the elicitors chitosan (CHT), salicylic acid (SA), and jasmonic acid (JA).

INFLUENCE OF RAINFALL PRECIPITATION ON THE DEFORMATION OF THE RIVER BANK CHANNELS IN PERMAFROST
We studied in the lab the interaction of river runoff from frozen soil, simulating the upper, active-layer, changing the thermal (warming) and mechanical (impact of rain) external influences.

Modelling vertical concentration distributions of solids suspended in turbulent visco-plastic fluid
Vertical concentration distributions of solids conveyed in Newtonian fluids can be modelled using Rouse-Schmidt type distributions. Observations of solids conveyed in turbulent low Reynolds number visco-plastic carriers, suggest that solids are more ...

Predicting Trustworthiness Across Cultures: An Experiment
We contribute to the ongoing debate in the psychological literature on the role of “thin slices” of observable information in predicting others' social behavior, and its generalizability to cross-cultural interactions. We experimentally assess the degree

In Search of Workers' Real Effort Reciprocity - A Field and a Laboratory Experiment [PDF]
We present a field experiment to assess the effect of own and peer wage variations on actual work effort of employees with hourly wages. Work effort neither reacts to an increase of the own wage, nor to a positive or negative peer comparison. This result

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
