Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Evaluations of Similarity Measures on VK for Link Prediction

open access: yesData Science and Engineering, 2018
Recommender system is one of the most important components for many companies and social networks such as Facebook and YouTube. A recommendation system consists of algorithms which allow to predict and recommend friends or products. This paper studies to

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Implementation of a Laboratory Information System in a Simulated Laboratory

open access: yesAmerican Society for Clinical Laboratory Science, 2017
Electronic health records are the principal method of storing patient health data. Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), a portion of the EHR, are the main avenue for laboratory staff to store data and provide laboratory results to health care providers. This paper examines the implementation of an LIS in an institution where simulated laboratories are

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Empirical Wavelet Transform Based ECG Signal Filtering Method

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering
The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a diagnostic tool that provides insights into the heart’s electrical activity and overall health. However, internal and external noises complicate accurate heart issue diagnosis.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.
